You cannot view this story with modern sensibilities, it was set in a timeline where young girls were equivalent to adult women, they were considered to behave as such. Women never had that opportunity to grow up at a normal pace.

Aniruddh treated her both as an equal because of her curious intellect and as a kid because he knew she was robbed of the experience of growing up. I never, even once, felt or thought he saw her as his child 😆

He saw her as a student, his best friend, a companion, a partner and his most favorite "zimmedari".

Infact, I would go as far as to say that post the annulment of their marriage, he had an inkling that she could grow up to be his ideal life partner as well. He saw all the traits, mindset and the heart that he desired to see in a woman but despite all this, he never once entertained the thought of anything romantic towards her because she was a child.

He made sure he fulfilled the duty and promises he made towards her bright future. Bondita was much more than just a child bride to him or zimmedari, she was the light he saw at the end of the tunnel to remove all the evils in their society.

The thing this, for Bondita, Anirudh had been her pati babu, baristara babu, rakshas babu, rakshak babu and sakha babu. In short, she has fought with him, fought for him, fought beside him, loved him, cared for him and protected him. He gave her a new life and he mentored her, in short, his whole life revolved around Bondita and her whole life revolved around Anirudh.

Now, it is very natural for anyone to love that person who means so much to them. Love is love, there ars just different forms. Bondita may have started loving Anirudh as a man but Anirudh loves Bondita as his best friend, companion and a parter in crime.

So these people claiming nonsense about the show haven't developed that emotional maturity to actually understand what the makers are trying to show. For them, love is something that happens between a man and woman. That's it.

I think Anirudh’s and Bondita's relationship is so pure and cute. Right now, Anirudh has worn that dushmani blanket but right there, he loves her too. He will always love her, no matter what!
