Before I begin, I thank @A_for_Arpita and @caller123 for rubbing off their symbolism fever onto me.
I am not a pro at these symbolisms but while re-watching the post leap episodes, I felt that the moments Anirudh doesn't have his spectacles are the times we get to see the REAL, "DEAD" Anirudh Roy Chowdhury (as he claims).
The spectacles represent the shield he's built to hide his true feelings, vulnerability and it also symbolizes his false enmity with Bondita because she belongs to Krishnanagar.
If you had noticed, once he leaves after realizing that the girl in pink salwar is Bondita while handing her over to Thakuma, he removed his spectacles - the REAL Anirudh resurfaced at that moment; completely heartbroken as he couldn't get to embrace his Bondita, his jeene ki wajah. The REAL Anirudh was alive until the driver reminded him about the duppatta coming from Krishnanagar.
Also, in the episode where he gets wet in the rain remembering his promise to Bondita, he removes his spectacles and one could easily see the ghost of the REAL Anirudh's smile which we all adore.
Even in the latest episode while he was cribbing to Kaka about his irritation due to Vyjayanti's incessant chatter, he had temporarily removed his spectacles; and the REAL Anirudh was back to support women's education when Kaka said that krantikari and fitoori youngsters like him wanted educated wives unlike the older generation who wanted wives good in household chores.
Well this is completely my perspective regarding the spectacles. I would love to read if someone begs to differ on this.
