They've poisoned you with this 'love is patient, love is kind' bullshit since you were a kid. But love is scientific, man. I mean, it's just a chemical reaction in the brain. Sometimes that reaction lasts a lifetime, repeating itself over and over again. And sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it goes supernova and then starts to fade. We're all just chemical hearts. Does that make love any less brilliant? I don't think so.
Krystal Sutherland, Our Chemical Hearts
When I saw the last two episodes and mulled over the growing attraction of Shiva towards Ravi, the only thing that crossed my mind was the word “chemical hearts.”
From times immemorial, man has been trying to decipher the science and philosophy behind the idea called love. From Robert Sternberg‘s theory of triangular love to studies about the Biology and chemistry behind love, all these point out to a simple fact that human beings are social animals and crave all forms of intimacy, whether sexual or emotional.
Brain Fog & Chemical Locha of Love
Have you ever thought about the time you had found someone attractive?
Stammering tongue, sweaty palms, asinine warbles, tripping or finding it hard to balance your centre of gravity! There would have been high chances that you’d have found heat seeping through your cheeks and ears, heart racing a mile every second and brain fogging with excitement so intense that the world around you seems to be twirling in giddiness like you. 😆
Well, well, love isn't really about the heart, isn't it? The chemistry of your brain defies the laws of physics and makes your entire body vibrate in thrill while going haywire!
There are many facets of love – lust, attraction, attachment, intimacy, passion. But, there is something very special about first love. In fact, as humans we are tutored to remember and get hyper excited because of many firsts in our lives. The first school, the first bag, the first bike, the first kiss, the first sexual experience, the first love.
First love is actually known as the first dose of addiction. According to a very recent study, the intense reaction to 1st attraction or love is very similar to addiction. Whether you are consuming your partner or not, the reaction of the body, mind and soul is very similar to how your body would react to a drug. Is it Love yet for Shiva? Is it merely lust for Shiva? Is it attraction for Shiva? Is it attachment for Shiva? Is it passion for Shiva?
The answer to all these questions is yes! It is all this and more given the kind of history he shares with Ravi. The intense temptation, allure, anger, intimacy all stems from the fact that the hormonal changes mimic and confuse amongst all these emotions.
He treads like a man intoxicated, addicted, and if you notice he is absolutely uncomfortable himself too! In fact, first love brings a surge of ‘reward, pleasure & escapism” hormones that simulate addiction of the highest order!
Imagine Shiva currently HIGH and doping on Raavi 😆😆😆 (It's sadly chemistry, biology and physics of first love) When you are high on dope, you do anything to consume, possess and trip on it day and night. Ravi is making him transcend into a trance like state.
When I said that he looks creepy, weird and totally desperate, what I meant was that his brain is reacting to all the signals that his body chemistry is giving him.
Also, we had seen subtle hints of attraction towards Ravi ever since his childhood. He had craved for her attention, and whenever she used to start with her Dev chant, Shiva would go ballistic.
Earlier, given their hate history and her obsession with Dev, all this was really not delved deeper into. Now, they both are in a state of peaceful silence, and Shiva has also been relieved of a very important factor of his childhood trauma which is the bangles of his mother.
Shiva is desperate, and how!
The curiosity to touch his object of desire, sometimes bordering partial oblivion of the the space and dimension they belong to-all hint to his growing madness!
What gives him the courage to spook Raavi is that in his subconscious mind he knows that she belongs to him as his wife. No matter how much ITV likes to gloss over the non-physical relationship of this alliance, in real life, matrimony brings an understated sexual tension, the resolution of which is probably the first step to love in normal arranged marriages.
Shiva, right from childhood, has never seen any woman apart from the motherly figures in his life. The only girl who hung around him was Raavi while his entire life spiralled around his obsession for her. And, now that the possibilities have been rewritten for both of them, it’s hard for him not to disassemble impulsively, since he is already giddy headed in Virginal love.
He hasn’t been around women romantically to understand the intricacy and emotion called love. For him, there is a brain fog which is pouring out blood throughout his body. To clear it, is the effortless option out. Hence, given how impulsive Shiva is, we can see that he looks a bit frazzled, pining and desperately curious with his newfound emotions around Raavi.
Stealing glances, reprimanding himself for being too intimate, stuttering-everything was so Shiva like! 😆
It's wasn't unreal at all!!!
“ Lust is when you love what you see! Love is when you lust what's inside.”
Shiva has seen both! It's just that he has started catching sight of how beautiful she is in all her glory! Isn't it ironic? She always wanted to rub it on his face about how she is pretty, and was desperately waiting for his acknowledgement. Today, when he complimented her, she idiotically behaved like a loony bin 😆
Look at his poor state🙏! He has become a gawking mess 😆
His smile is so dandy! Yeh meri hi Chipkali hai 😆
Dekh hi leta hun ache se 😆
I love his weird smile. Poor thing, he is trippy and typically going through a Chemical Locha 🤣
Did you all know just how there is a lot of split screen being used for Shiva and Ravi both! This isn’t used for both the other couples. I think it’s deliberate on the part of the makers so that we catch up on the nuances and changing feelings in both the characters simultaneously in a scene.
If a moment ago he is behaving like an intoxicated person, the next moment he’s coming back to reality, and reprimanding himself for being too intrusive. He is almost like a child who has been given a glossy exotic toy, and he doesn’t know how it shall work. The child tries to experiment, hesitate and become curious about this box of goodies given to him.😆
Raavi is behaving like a bobblehead doll, who just keeps nodding in a happy space! 😆
There are moments like these when she catches him staring at her. Her expressions are that of wonder, curiosity and confusion. The fact that Siva could be attracted to him so instantly is absolutely alien to her. You can’t blame her, right? This man has been nothing but a devil to her! How on earth she would get to know what he is feeling? This takes me back to her dialogue about her not being “Raavi Antaryaami”
He has always been the first one to extend his hands towards her. Whether, during the marriage rituals or during any form of puja. If Ravi has been kind and loving towards him before marriage, Shiva has always been watchful of her and extended his support whenever she needed it the most. They are truly made for each other.
I love this one a lot. This is where he forgets the notions of space and time. He can desperately focus only on the object of his desire.
Undeniable chemistry and horrific timing. They love each other.

Because I never realized that you could fall in love with humans the same way you fall in love with songs. How the tune of them could mean nothing to you at first, an unfamiliar melody, but quickly turn into a symphony carved across your skin; a hymn in the web of your veins; a harmony stitched into the lining of your soul

The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.

I loved the subtle disbelief at his hand gesture there! 😆

I loved this frame. Raavi was not in his state! She was twirling in happiness 😆
No, this trick won't work... How on earth are you ever going to explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love?

Together, we form a necessary paradox; not a senseless contradiction.

I wasn’t aware of just how close he’d moved to me until now. So many details came into focus. The shape of his lips, the line of his neck. “I’m not dangerous,” I breathed.
He brought his face toward mine. “You are to me.”-Richelle Med
Tid Bits:
Flirt game😈: Really enjoyed the little flirting which Shiva put on while checking her out through and through. It’s tiny little wink and the cuteness of Raavi was very interesting in that scene.
Raavi being Raavi, just twirling around to let him check whether her Dupatta has been nibbled by a mouse or not 😆🤣🤣
Tera kya hoga Raavi 🤣🤣
Uncouth Shiva: He has never been to college, a time when opposite genders mingle and get to know each other! For Shiva, that opposite gender had only been Raavi till date. No wonder, he is desperate to eat her in his sleep 🤣
