I think those of us in Europe who have Data Protection regulations and those of us in America who have privacy laws are chill with WhatsApp but people in India are not as chill with it...so I vote for Gmail

Similar to skype I think, but less personal it's more used by gamers to chat etc but anyone is free to use. I haven't used much, only one or twice for a uni group project as everything was online coz of lockdown at that time.
