Because there's almost zero overlap in audiences. People's content consumption habits are very set in stone. Those who watch digitally, will always watch digitally- you can't get them to contribute to you TV TRP (barring the really, really committed fandom, but honestly, fandoms are typically not more than a few hundered people, and that's really neither here nor there). Similarly, those who watch on TV, will not watch online even if it's released on insta/youtube whatever.

But releasing episodes early is a major perk for subscribers, and that gets them paid memberships. Voot does this too, actually- 24 hours in advance.

And that package is actually useless. For english movies, series & disney (eng dub) have to go for premium. I got hotstar only for this show. Otherwise movies & series toh bahar bhi mil jaati hai.

One more problem is people upload everything on insta before telecast.
