Long time ago lot of tamilians moved to Palghat in Kerala for their livelihood which borders Coimbatore, another big city because of Travancore kingdom. After Independence, whatever kingdoms was left were all gone except a few who are only royalty for namesake. After independence these Palghat Iyers moved to Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai for livelihood as states were formed, new jobs were created. So people from that area can speak both Tamil and Malayalam. Other examples in BW are Vidya Balan, Priya Mani (She acts in the Family Man) to name a few. So when he says she is a ttamilian but also from Kerala, he is right about it. There is no confusion😃
