I think it was because the marriage between Imlie and Adi was forced, he claimed the marriage was illegal at that point. Because he could have taken this to the court and simply annulled it. But his and Imlies marriage happened (in a mandir?) with all those hindu customs, even without papers, unless Adi claims it was forced, the marriage is legally binding.

Adi wont be able to annul the marriage if he doesnt go about calling off the marriage (claiming it was forced) within a period of time..I guess 6 months or something. Basicslly he always had the power to do it, but he didnt! Now the course has changed and he wants this marriage to work out, so yes the marriage is fully legal. But yes from Imlie's perspective it had always been a whole different story!

Late to the party and great thread AY.

After reading through, realized that I did not register the convo.. I was probably just seeing the actors on the screen and missed the subtle nuances n the cheenegi suhaag wali baat... 😆

I was distracted (had some other activity) and could only watch the epi once, so that explains it. I will watch over the weekend and catch the points made here and may rant.

At first watch it was good and had all the right notes plus being Dd free... (she was mentioned.. she hangs over the episode. (shrugs gotta deal with her).)

As for the Adi - Rupi scene, i was watching strawberries on the screen n maaf karna behenon for missing the major plot loophole from Adi...😆about letting her go. Itna bada line bol dees and I missed that 🤣or my brain did not register.

As Lodestar wrote, now watching for the leads and whatever story the makers throw.. taking it with a pinch of salt after the trauma since the suicide kaand..

The story has my head spinning and seriously getting a headache trying to keep up with the flip flops by the characters due to the writing. The writing can be tighter and more logical... but then logic n ITV do not go together. Some of the editing n plot loopholes are also seriously trying...

With Mithi -SK staying back in Delhi... let us see what is in store.

I feel everyone's perspective is different and based on the some of the illogical tracks, it is ok. Sab apne nazariya se dekhte hain. Baaki Sita Mother sambaleghi.

Aur main toh roz hi badaa reluctantly dekhti hoon epi aajkal....Fary has to drag me to watch it on many days😆.....warna toh the daily flips and lack of momentum in the story since a while now has mostly made the whole process of watching/talking about it a bit of a chore TBH😆....it's a rare day when the epi GENUINELY makes me happy😆

I don’t think here Imlie is questioning legality of her relationship. Here the struggle is her belief vs her reality. She believed that she is the product of true love, as Meethi was faithfully waiting for Imlie’s dad. She got the first reality check when she stayed at chaturvedi house. But she got to know the harsh reality that she is an illegitimate child. She is questioning her whole existence and beliefs.

Again she is not thinking logically at all, all she understands is sisters can’t share suhaag etc. but the disconnect I found is with Adi. @bold1: Exactly....it's a struggle between faith and reality for Imlie. She's always had her faith in the marriage....that is her belief system....but over time it started crashing against the harsh reality of society ke perceptions and that's when Imlie started getting reality checks.

As you said, this mainly started when she went to stay at C house....she started to see how her marriage to Adi will be questioned/perceived always as her having usurped Malini's place.....that is when she started getting more insecure and anxious about all this.

Yes, she is deffo not thinking logically😆.....this is what happens each time AC does her bheja fry.....she starts going on her own tangents and forgetting what the actual situation is. Ab yeh suhaag baantne ka raag shuru kar diya hai jabki Malini already knows the truth, Adi has clearly stated so many times that he only considers Imlie his wife....toh phir baantne, chheenne ki baatein kahaan se? But yeah, writers will keep Adi passive for all this nonsense taaki Didi ko prop up karke laa sakte to "hand over" suhaag to Imlie....mehh

Before the episode aired I did think too ki woh jaayegi just because of the toxicity but after the initial scene in the last episode it was pretty clear she was not even thinking about it. Toh end mein aise hi Aditya se bhi bulwa diya ki kahin chali na jaaye. And people took the bait again. Like why does anyone think Aditya is a pendulum when he is clearly not 🤷🏻‍♀️

Waise bhi all this is just to end up glorifying the big “donation” that didi is going to make. That suhag chheen na was there for one reason only. Dono khade hoke aarti karle didi ki after the donation 🤢
