It’s because in India yrs ago only rich people could go to a school where they taught English. So it was a status symbol. Like an expensive car or something of that sort. Plus in the colonial times when Britain ruled India. British people thought of themselves as superior. That kinda got ingrained into people of India as well n other places where Britain’s rule was. Hence lighter skin is seem as superior by people n so is going to a school where English is taught.

I liked Soumya. But I didnt mind Bhavya either. Her character was interesting.

Seher was also killed off sooner... Gul is not capable of grey shaded heroines... All her leads have same character traits😔

Rudra was a fitness freak, him falling for a chubby girl would make for an interesting storyline... I think Rumya had more fans than Ruvya.

Yes, I am liking Udaariyan too...in fact, I went back and watched all the episodes from Fatejo’s marriage onwards...they’re very nicely done! There is clearly a character arc visible, despite the trappings of ITV!👍

This week’s episodes have also been good, thus far...hope they don’t go the same quintessential misunderstandings route!

You are so right about English and fair skin obsession... Fairness creams ads are earning millions by making people insecure of their own skin tone... The ads, movies, songs everything is problematic... Most recent was that song from khaali peeli... Glad that people called out on the makers for the song.
