They are not omniscient. It's possible that they won't know everything. It's more important for viewers to know everything so that there are no loopholes. They could move on thinking that Sara ran away, and that they have fooled/tricked BM somehow, so there are no chances of his return later on in their lives. BM failing at killing them, and admitting his/her defeat would also be a win for them.
