Mom used to ban books for me due to the extent of my reading and I used to hide away under my blankets and read in flashlights because I had to return the book to the library the next day and get the next book.

Even I was not allowed to read anything else till my 12th except textbooks 🥺🥺.

I feel parents should let kids read some other novels apart from textbooks after that are 13.

I mean they can filter the contents, like too much violence or something like that, but reading habit should be there.

I still feel I could have read so many things in my teen years, aur jab clg shuru hua I didn't get any time.😣

Our family is a reader family. All of us read and write. Mom instilled the habit in me. She encouraged me to read😆 But I fell in love with the world of books and went overboard. I read whole 500 and above paged books in a single day and stopped paying attention to the world around me.

Mom had to put her foot down.

By the time I was done schooling the english aisle had not a single book I hadn’t read. I have a record.🤣
