What they could have done is Shiva being taken to jail or being interrogated while Gautam and Dev doing the police work they will be doing now. This track could never get stretched because ofc Dev and Gautam will manage to find the evidence like they will in the show. At least, that would have made some sense instead of running away like that as if it isn't the police who is running after them.

Shivi are getting certain ITV tropes where they have to work together to help the family or each other and have an adventure while building trust, bonding and a partnership between each other. It could have been serious and depressing if shiva was taken by the officers but this crazy idea might just be the start of more adventures to come for them in the future lol
