Chapter 8
βLehron ki tarah takra kar bikhrta nahi hai pyaar.
Kisi par mar mitne ka naam hota hai pyaar.
Zinda logon ko kaam nahi hai pyaar karna.
Kyunki jo pyaar ko jaan le
ye pyaar uska jaanle.β
R β Vedβ¦ Donβt even dare. I will tear you apart with bare hands if you even tried touching as much as a hair on her. I will break you from limb to limb. You have issues with me. Kill me. Torcher me. Break me or burn me down. But it should only and only be me. You canβt hurt her. You wonβt hurt her. I wonβt let you hurtβ¦
V β Yappβ¦ yappβ¦ yapp. Donβt you get tired of delivering such monologues? I get that you have this superhero complex but you get the situation you are in right? You understand that I have a gun pointed at you and your dear wife and even a slight movement or as much as an itch can cut a one way ticket for you guys to never up land. Where will you run, towards the bullet or jump down to valley? On second thought, I havenβt seen flying humans. Why donβt you both jump and I will have that stricken off my wish list. Cβmon jump.
Raghav looked at him with fury and fear. Fear, an emotion he never in his years of existence would have thought will be his reaction to a bullet. But the person who that bullet threatens is the one who have made him realize all the other emotions except his usual rage and loneliness. She made him giddy, she made him warm, she made him jealous and she only made him feel love. Love, the most alien yet beautiful emotion of all which he always thought is not for him in million years. He felt it every second he saw her. Her anger, her mischief, her fear, her care, her disgust, her plight, her smile, everything told him every second what love looks like. She showed him what love is. She taught frozen heart to beat. Her warmth melted his ice. She gifted him, his life.
And I am giving her death. Well done Raghav. Very well done.
Pallavi didnβt needed a look at Raghav to exactly know what he is thinking. She held and turned him towards herself. Grasping his face gently with her palms on his cheeks.
P β Raghavβ¦ Itβs alright. Itβs not your fault. This is not your fault. You canβt push yourself again in same pit you just made out of. You canβt do that. If not for you then for me. You have to pardon yourself. You have to live.
Itβs your life at stake and you are still thinking about me to have life. How could you? On second thought only you can.
R β I told you I am not right for you. I told you. I told you I will hurt you. I told you to leave because I am not the one to deserve anything good. I told you to leave. I told you Pallavi. I told you.
P β No Raghav. You deserve everything. You deserve all the happiness. You deserve all the love. You deserve all the care in the world. You deserve my whole world.
R β But not youβ¦ I donβt deserve to be with youβ¦ right?
His eyes were holding the anger of the third eye of Lord Shiva. He wanted to burn the whole world, to be with his world. He just wanted to be with his world.
P β Raghavβ¦
She said gently keeping her palm on his cheek and the whole anger turned to misery which dropped from his eyes and hers. There are infinite words in infinite universes but none seemed to be able to hold weight to express the feelings their heart were trying to communicate. Incomplete love have various romanticism appreciators but the core of the storm have silence. A deafening silence destined to be that way for eternity. Incomplete love story is also a love story. A broken frozen heart, a fiery angelic soul and a story woven with threads of silk which no matter can be the most beautiful masterpiece but the thread has to break. It always has to break. Destiny have its cruel tricks.
He had to let her go. She has to let him go.
P β Raghavβ¦ promise me one thing. You wonβt stop living. You wonβt stop caring. You canβt keep blaming yourself.
His eyes get the rage.
R β You want me to live. You want me to care. You want world to have Raghav without Pallavi. There is no Raghav without Pallavi. If it has to be like this then be it. This is what destined by your bappa right? So let your bappa be also clear about it very well. No one can separate Pallavi from Raghav. No one. Vedβ¦ you wanted to kill us right. Go ahead. Do that. Leave you, not even god can separate her from me. I want you to try. I dare you to try. Because if Pallavi is not there, there is no Raghav. Go ahead shoot. I dare youβ¦ shoot.
P β Raghavβ¦ you canβt do this to yourself. You canβt do this to our love. You canβt do this to my love. My love canβt die. Everybody I loved left this world. Now you want to leave too. I wonβt let you do that. I canβt let you do that to my love. You canβt die. You have to live if not for yourself then for me. You have to live for my love. You have to live for my dream. I canβt let my love die. I canβt fail again. You canβt let me fail again. You canβt.
Her eyes were begging to be heard. His eyes crying for βhis lifeβ. He canβt let her go. He will never let her go. He failed her every time. He canβt fail her this time. He just canβt.
And he shouted.
R β What happened to player? Ohβ¦ my badβ¦ I meant loser. Cβmon loserβ¦ go ahead. Be the little pathetic piece of afraid cry baby you always have been. But I guess you need to be quick. Ahhhβ¦ too late. Do you hear those sirens? I thought why police was so late. But no issues, better late than never. I will save her no matter what you do but just keep in mind what will happen to you. So go ahead. By my calculation and voice of sirens approaching I guess you donβt have more than a minute. Shoot you coward. Shoot.
V β What the hell? You called police. Youβ¦ You donβt deserve my mercy. You deserve nothing. It has to be you raghav Rao. It always has to be you.
Ved pointed the gun at Raghav and shot. The bullet left the barrel and a smile danced on Raghavβs face. He was happy. He felt content. He felt peace.
You will be free now Pallavi. I have finally freed you. You can't see this but I know. I know I don't deserve the love. I know I don't deserve the life. And I know I don't deserve anything. But you do. You do deserve everything and most of all you deserve to choose. And now you will have a choice and you donβt have to ruin your life for me. My love will live Pallavi. You will live. I love you Pallavi Raghav Rao. I love you.
Shot fired but βThe Fireβ engulfed the bullet destined for βIceβ. It had to be taken by fire. It had always been taken by fire.
She fell to ground as he held her in his lap. The moment went silent. His world went silent. She went silent.
Okayy. I loved how you changed the track of story from mystery to emotional. I am literally having tears on my eyes after reading this. The conversation between Pallavi and Raghav was on point and amazingly written.
I don't want to jinx it by writing more. You are surprising me more each passing day. All I want to say is that you are a fantastic writer.

BTW thanx
And off to read chapter 4.
I am already thinking of how these back and forths will be so satisfying, to read it all at once.
Another brilliant read. And I am liking how you are giving away the puzzle bits, but holding something back, to throw at us when not expected. ππΌ
All is well... all is well...
