Did they ever show what the Pal Pal sequence was for? Or like Aaoge Jab tum at the airport proposal, it was only used for some kind of method acting and/or potentially edited out later for copyright issues.

I guess they just edited out many of these scenes. I was watching this bts from the holi episode

and realized that some bits from Karthik-Ahaan conversation (when Ahaan is high) didn't make it to the actual epi. Maybe the same happened with the Pal Pal sequence as well?

Yes Ahaan's cute dialogues were chopped off from this episode.

But again for Pal Pal I guess it was just for Promo because it was shot in Rheaan wedding announcement setup, so nothing else make sense except if it was Ahaan's dream.
