Younger generation is also turning towards OTT content especially with Netflix and Prime bringing in lot of new shows/ movies/ anthologies of different genres.

I remember as a child my aunts and grandma watching desi shows and those were def not the saas bahu sanskari drama they have now, women worked, people having affairs, divorces, there was this realistic approach to showing the story but then the ekta cult came on and everything became all dramatic lol at least in her earlier shows ekta did show crazy human behavior now all that is left to the vamps and super human leads lol and unfortunately all other ph have followed her suit. There have been very few shows in the past decade that are even worth mentioning i think sp only had those finite shows and one late night show called maryada that was worth watching.

It feels so weird to think now that so many teenage girls were swooning over him, wanting a husband like him and i have literally seen some of my friends go crazy for him.

Luckily I didn't have a TV in my hostel then😆.I saw some glimpses much later in hotstar.

I agree the initial ~50 episodes were terrible. I did fly through those rapidly. But I'll admit that I did like his progression after their kidnapping track. They used the NDE track well as opposed to the writers here.

IMO, Shivaay was wayyyy worst, especially his reasons for it. I still can't beleive I watched 200+ episodes before giving up.

My mom used to say that shows in nineties used to be quite good. Now the same thing again and again...

Agree! I have watched so many shows like that in the 90s and they used to be finite series with 50-60 episodes or at the max. 100 episodes and used to be weekly as well. I used to be proud of DD and later Zee TV for showing such content and sometimes Sony TV too. SP was struggling in the 90s, hardly anybody would watch that channel and Colors did not even exist.

I would have prefered some hesitation in ykb if he touches her by mistake. Or even a small monologue where she just declares how much she is bothered by his sight as he irritates her. Raavi is a lioness and she can roar but it is only before Shiva and Dhara usually. She has been soo vocal about Shiva multiple times I would have loved to see her think about Dev irritated too.

I think rishita has overpowered dev as a person that if someone even wants to react its rishita who is the main person to fight he just stands their absorbing it all lol raavi ignores him most of the time and any ykb its a group thing and she barely touched him except in the kaandhar where he held her and shivas hands together lol raavi has a right on shiva in many ways to be vocal about him but when she did vent to dhara about devta she is indifferent but she does argue back with rishita when needed. Rishita is a clown brick wall at this point she just doesnt absord anything you tell her at all lol

One of my favorite examples

There is a show right now called Anupama about a woman dealing with the repercussions of her husbands EMA and trying to find a footing for herself.
There was a similar show in the 90’s that my mom used to watch called “Saans” (breathe, not mother in law 🤣) it had Neena Gupta in it, and ohh boy it was on a completely different dimension compared to the crap they show nowadays. It has similar broader themes as Anupama so I always get reminded of what we had 😐
