It's a ShiVi fanfic featuring DevTa where ShiVi are preventing DevTa from falling in love. But in order to write the fanfic, I need to figure out what "lover boy" Dev will do... and the only thing I can think of is sleep 🤣

I think Dev would be a conventional lover boy- you know the roses and champagne kind of guy. I am thinking of the cheesy filmy romance tropes. That is what Raavi probably liked, you know, take the girl to a high end restaurant or cafe, pull out the chair for her, treat her to something nice. Be all smiles and pleasant.

I generally find that kind of romance little boring. I prefer Shiva’s romance because it’s more about the care behind the action and not a tick to the romance checkbox(buy flower, but gift, say nice things…)

Dev is her jeth now 🤪

But then we have a show at 8 that takes the devar-bhabi bond do kadam age 🤧🤧

Here, all they have to do is explore and bury the past 😓.

I dread to think that the scene where raavi folds her hands and says to rishita that she has accepted that Dev was never his and just asks Dev why he Didn't have the courage to tell her is the closure 😣😣😣

Agreed! Gul started the manhandling and angry young man type heroes and forced marriages with ASR, and it continues to this day.. still the most popular trope on ITV 🤪

And Ekta started Saas bahu saazish, now most of the shows try to include both

She looks so fragile here 😭

I cried after I saw her face😭

Alice did a wonderful job today❤

The Dev discussions are so interesting. A question though - does he know Raavi tried to suicide?

It feels so weird to think now that so many teenage girls were swooning over him, wanting a husband like him and i have literally seen some of my friends go crazy for him.

Luckily I didn't have a TV in my hostel then😆.I saw some glimpses much later in hotstar.

I'll be the first to admit that I was one of those swooning girls 🤪 but I was also 12-13 years old with no concept of how love actually is, but thankfully I've grown since then 😆

Yess...that's the tried and tested success story of itv.and I have seen people loving him, like literally swooning over him.that was the only show which was a trp rocker based solely on romance and the lead couples chemistry.

Raavi barely looks at Dev and has yet to say a word to him while he is the one who has at times talked to her supported her or wanted to help her. Serving food to everyone including Dev doesn't mean all is ok for raavi but should she focus on spineless Dev or her own marriage lol

Please tell me, since the year 2000, things started going downhill. I was an avid TV show (Hindi and Tamil) watcher back in the 90s when I was in HS and college. Back then it used to be weekly show(episodes used to come once a week, like how they do it here in the US), also each show used to have fixed episodes, infact Fauji was only a 13 episode series. Suddenly in the year 2000 with SP and Ekta's rise daily soaps became popular, since then things went downhill. Daily shows dilutes the content a lot because the makers are constantly under pressure to meet the deadline which leads to poor writing.

Suddenly shows were all about Sanskaar. 😆

But, I would like to share some parts of a cultural report I had for ITV. So, when TV was launched in India, the shows revolved around evolved stories catering to the upper class only who had the privilege of watching or affording a TV. Things changed in the late ’90s due to cable TV and privatisation in India, where electronic gadgets entered the Indian market and prices dropped. Now, a new stratum of society who saw bahus and cooking were also entitled to such content. That's when content started changing.

The good news is, there will be a whole new swap of generations and slowly ITV shall change as per predictions too.
