Luckily for us we have been spared the melodrama in Adi and Imlie's case till now and Sita Maiyya kare that we are spared from it in the future as well. I know you did not even hint at any melodrama, but my point was more that jab Adi ne itne achche se handle kiya on finding out Imlie being involved in truths that he was unaware of, my expectation is that Imlie will react the same way. I feel somewhere she will understand that 1. It was not his truth to tell and 2. for Imlie also, knowing about her biological father was more to do with getting justice for her mother more than her wanting her father's name. I also think Adi wanted to protect her from knowing Dev's name, as it would ruin the current relationship they had, where she had started to look up to him and really develop fatherly type feelings for Dev. Adi knew that the truth will ruin that tenuous connection they share and something tells me that Imlie will understand that as well. As for being let down, jab Meethi herself had declared that knowing Dev's name has no point despite Imlie asking her on multiple occasions, I do not think she will blame Adi for hiding it as well.

I like the idea of her being a journalist and working alongside/ in competition with BBSB - we may get some interesting scenes :)

haan afsar hi bolti hai and she said police in PD toh that has been the thought baaki i am sorry i do not know what powers she can have as an IAS and what all comes under it as my knowledge is limited since i am not from India..

Imlie has always meant as Police officer, as before also she used say she wants to be "Daroga" Imlie, which is Police Inspector Imlie. As for IAS/Collector, they come under the administrative services in India. That means they lead many of the government sectors and are mainly responsible to ensure development of all the sectors of the country. Reason @PPak mentioned IAS is because they lead government departments or ministries, including the Police department. So her sapna of ensuring that her Dadda and his saathi be safe & making sure that girls in her village get the education and opportunities to grow will be better served if she was an IAS officer. But even with her decision to become a journalist, she can at least ensure that the correct authorities are made aware of the injustices being meted out in her surroundings, so that also serves to fulfill the purpose of her dreams.

I also was interested in her pursuing law as a career option as well because as Adi said, ek baar uske dimaag mein ek baat baith gayi, woh dusre insaan ko pagal kar degi, but apna point nahi chodegi. Luckily that character trait is useful for a journalist as well, so there is that. I think we also hot a cute glipse of her jounalistic tendencies both during the Bunty bhaiyya sting operation and the lovely news report that she made for Adi on his birthday, which was so on point & well done by her. After that when she executed this "operation" with Adi also successfully, she must have felt that confidence that this could be the right career option for her.

I have had this wish for her to pursue IAS or journalism since the introductory episodes itself when she mentioned she wanted to be a police officer. Becoming an IAS officer aligns so well with SK's dream as well of having development of PD so that it doesn't lag behind the city. She may not get a posting at PD but she can still have that little bit of influence, information & resources to carry out grass root level development of PD.

Journalism toh was always a fav option because she saw how it worked real time in influencing the tide against SK & again in getting justice by catching the culprits in the bridge collapse incidents. She has had true respect & admiration for the power of the mighty pen. In recent times her doing the newscast on Adi's birthday was also a cute way to show her inclination towards it. Also she enjoyed being a part of the Bunty Bhaiyya sting operation. I remember how excited & chirpy she was after they had completed that sting & how abruptly she was brought down to earth by Adi with his get married to someone else crap.

@ Naadan- IAS is Indian Administration Services i.e. Civil Services. Very tough to crack this exam. Once selected, you first have probationary training period where you work as Sub-divisonal magistrate. After training completion you get your 1st posting as a district magistrate & collector. Then you progress in the bureaucracy hierarchy. So those who want to work in government public sector can do it by becoming an IAS officer.

No IB viewer can forget the horror of ACP 🥚 being shoved down our throat by Gul in her weird ego trip🤣.

It will be very interesting to see Adi-Imlie in the same professional setting. The balancing of their personal & professional equation would be fascinating to see. So much potential for exploring their dynamics😃.

Let's see how the makers progress Imlie's career path. She has just started out on her educational journey. There is plenty of time till we reach the stage of her professional journey.

Baap re itna detailed discussion kar liya tum logon ne about Imlie being police officer, IAS officer and journalist 😆

Reason I think journalism suits her best is same reason I think it suits Adi the best….they both don’t have that much patience for bureaucracy which would be required for an IAS job. 😆…..They both have the fierce fire of idealism and Imlie mein toh aur bhi woh revolutionary waali fire hai that SK inculcated in her. So journalism provides them with that Avenue to justice, helps them in bringing injustices to light, speaking truth to power.

It also fits Imlie’s adventurous side 😆….she’s not really made for a desk job….tehelna hota hai isko humesha 😆….and yes her levels of excitement to do sting operations and spying type kaam 😆….all lends itself well to making her suited for investigative journalism. Baaki she already has a talent with words just like her Babusahib. Bas thoda aur polish ho jayega toh aur nikhar ke aayega sab :).

Police officer banne ke liye she lacks the discipline 😆….unfettered spirit she wants to be….so journalism suits her skill set best.

Today’s dialogue regarding the journalism profession and her justification to do it was very well done. Actually fourth estate have much more liberty than any other sector. It directly debate with persons . Bureaucrat have always restrictions from doing something good . So journalism was good option they have give .

Blame the info excess on my once upon a time wanting to become an IAS officer during high school. But my inclination changed really soon after researching about the time & hard work required to be dedicated🤣.

I agree that investigate journalism suits her best as it has the field work aspect to it as well as the idealism that she believes in. I feel that she has a better way with words as she is able to explain complicated things so simply. Seedhi baat no bakwaas.

I could never imagine her as a police officer because of one big thing especially- she cannot separate her emotions from her work. Her emotions influence how hard she works. Also she has a lot of sympathy & empathy. I have doubts whether she would be disciplined or strict enough with criminals. So it is better if she doesn't go that way.

+1 about Didi ki bakwaas khee khee in that scene 🙄😂

Matlab she just proved my spare part theory again. lol koi purpose nahin tha iska scene mein lekin ghusaane ke liye zabardasti ghussa do bas. Yeh convenience ka so called “badi behen protection” I can only roll my eyes at. Apni Maa se toh bachaa nahin paati who actually assaults Imlie but random guy se bachaayegi Didi Imlie ko? Oh please 🙄😂

Basically Mayuri got a chance to show her ladaaku side again by beating up GM 😆….and ST got to egg her on ki aur maaro😆…Characters toh dikh nahin rahe the scene mein. Actors ka offscreen dynamic zyada dikh raha tha 😆

Iske baad bhi Malini side pe khadi giggling and trying to hide her laughter looked so bizarre given the actual relationship dynamics. She was trying to act like sab normal hai and they are all regular pals 😆….phir Nishant aagaya toh isko bechari banne ka chance mil gaya once again. Lol bas itne hi scene ke liye ghusaya aevein 🤷‍♀️😂

I was just thankful ki Imlie ki Didi bhakti thodi pause pe rahi coz focus was on Imlinder plan. Lol baaki I guess aage toh phir se sab Didi drama hai so I’m happy jitna bhi happy Adilie mila. Didi ki bakwaas khee khee notwithstanding .
