Close on the heels of episode director Rakesh Sarang's quitting the soap, comes yet another peeved exit from 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin'. Last week creative director and screenplay writer of the show, Kamlesh Kunti Singh, staged a walkout. Singh was upset with interference from the channel.
He blamed the channel for not letting the creative team have any freedom in developing the storyline. "All they are interested in is pushing in endorsements at the drop of a hat. Consequently, the story is bound to go for a toss," he blasts.
Nevertheless, most of those who have disembarked from the 'Jassi...' boat seem to hold grudges against the producers Deeya and Tony Singh. There have been repeated reports of non-payments to artists and technicians. Actors Parmeet Sethi and Sameer Soni, livid with the high handed treatment meted out to them, have gone on record to express this. Singh however, does not hold any grudges against the producers. In fact, he is writing for them for a different channel.
The channel has chosen to distance itself from the controversy saying that it was purely a production house issue and they do not wish to be dragged into a debate concerning an individual.
