I never thought someone would come in defence for movies/entertainment industry for not maligning cultures when it is happening for decades. Being a traditionalist I would see them more often than a liberal would do or agree to accept them. But will give a small example, Deewar a 1975 film.. If you have seen movie you will know what I am talking about.
But here is a thing don't mix up religion and traditionalism, I am not even an ardent Hindu follower, I don't even remember when I last visited temple. There is lot of wrong happening in the name of religion. One doesn't need to visit temple to be called spiritual.
Now, now Zeal..... This is unfair. You allude to the Deewar movie, and don't go into tge details. You, like Sherlock Holmes, leave me crumbs/clues, and I, like Watson, is expected to solve the mystery??😭. I haven't watched the movie, but, I know the basic premise. Is it tge movie with "mere paas maa hain"?? Now, how am I supposed to understand wat u meant by refering to that movie? Is it problamatic for u? Then let's discuss how . Instead of that, since the last two of your posts, you are just giving out generic statements, instead of giving me the names of the movies, which according to u, are maligning traditions. If you don't want to go into specifics, then wats the need of the discussion. We can go around circles all day.

Just wanted to make a general statement in relation to KC since Zeal claimed that he had that conversation with you on the subject.

Did u read my post??? where did I say that not doing it is bad....infact I said that no one should be forced to do it if they don't want to...that is when it becomes regressive...but I am against people think that I am a fool because I observe KC...I don't judge people who don't observe KC and I do not want be judged if I am observing it...I am a very staunch Hindu....I respect everyone's faith and religion if they are not harming anyone...but if someone is going to attack me for my faith...I will rip them apart..it is as simple as that...
Her post was directed at me by quoting you. She called KC perceived regressive without having knowledge of KC. That's what lack of knowledge does. No one is imposing KC on anyone.. but if one understands value of traditions and try to embrace them world will be a wonderful place.
Maze ki baati hai some of my elder relatives call me Nastik! Far from being staunch hindu... Its only my parents who dont compel me to visit temple. Here n there they do insist but they know I wont fall for modern hinduism or whatever Pandit says has to be believed or fear about.
My road to spirituality is different and it doesn't have to be the one by disrespecting my roots or anyone else's.

But even your post was not regressive when it comes to KC....you said you will love it IF your wife does KC for you....that will be the CHOICE of ur wife...u r not going to dictate or threaten her to do it...right?? Same thing with is with me... there is no one in this world except my kids who can force me to do anything against my will... if in any tradition you take away the choice and make it compulsory ....it becomes regressive....that is the difference...

Not everything has to be spelled out...some things are implied...that an elected PM of a democratic country is answerable to the people who elected him is implied.....the press conferences are a way that the concerns of the public are addressed through the press and journalists.....For a country's PM to take advantage of something that is not written in black and white in the constitution to avoid to address the concerns of people is nothing else but cunningness and douchebagery......and it is sad to use the constitution to defend this act of the PM..
No, that's wrong thought. The country is run by what's laid in the constitution and not by press conferences which are add no significant valve to the functioning.
PM is not answerable via press conferences. Lok sabha elections prove the mandate of people and they will exercise that choice as they have done in past. Journalists are not constitutional authority.
PM is supposed to work for the nation and not attend press conferences, in the end the work holds prime importance.

I'm guessing he's talking about this scene.

Ofcourse it will her choice. That's what I learned from elders in my family. My parents didn't make an issue when she didn't keep it for one or two years. My parents have never compelled me to go to temple, they gave freedom in whatever religion I follow. They allow me to ask/chase questions behind all traditions and let me pick ones I want to go ahead with.
Thats why I said it earlier one has to have full knowledge about something before making an informed decision. I'm not even sure LV even knows about why KC is celebrated.

Amongst all the other incapabilities that he’s famous for, him not doing even one press conference really made him a laughing stock both in his own country and around the world
PM must function as per the role provided in the constitution, nothing else. That's the oath taken.
Press conferences are a choice which may be exercised or not. It's far more significant and required that a PM works for the nation.
In democracy, mandate of people is the key and they exercise it to elect their choice of leader. If they are unhappy they won't vote. But Indians did overwhelmingly vote for him , so majority is happy with him. Citizens have right to vote for whosoever they like.
No one is laughing and no country cares for press conferences in the least. Countries focus on bilateral relations and trade. These policies remain more or less same irrespective of the party in power.
See whether one's choice of candidate or party wins or loses, one must respect the mandate.

No one except the whole world. Modi is infamous for not holding any press conferences and being incapable of answering questions.
