Oh if we talk about CIA activities, we'll be here all day. They meddle in nearly every country. I'm sure there is a lot more than we know about. But whatever they do is ostensibly for the protection of America. If there is fallout from that, they're still not going to take responsibility in a way that harms America.
People *should* criticize but it won't change how they function. Every country's spy agency does the same things to the extent that they're actually able to.
Most of their early interventions in Guatemala were to keep the Communists out. The last time they were known to meddle was way back in 1996 when there was apparently human rights violations for which the CIA's chief of the Latin division had to resign. It's now 25 years later. How is the current caravan of people trying to get into the US related to that? (I'm basing this just on wiki because I don't have such clear knowledge about this)
