💯 Honestly, it’s all ITV shows. On another front, the FL was physically assaulted on the day of her wedding and nothing was shown after. She resumed life as usual from the next day and it wasn’t even mentioned. I just don’t understand how they can overlook grief and trauma and make it appear as if it’s nothing.
I wish we got a breakfast table scene where Raavi gets sick at the thought of food & leaves. We could have gotten a follow up scene where Shiva thinks back to all the times she ate with them and feels for her. Maybe even wonders if marrying him is such an awful punishment.
Or one where she stares at her clothes from the day before the wedding... wondering if she could somehow reverse time.
Little scenes here and there. Small meaningful scenes.
Her running into Dev and freezing up.There are endless scenes to show. But nothing. Instead her emotions and her past with Dev was shoved under a carpet. And Dhara Devi forced her to play the role of Shiva’s wife and forced him to do the same.
Those are some beautiful scenarios to explore.
You know, from many days, I get the feeling that PS has become like the Gopi vau kind of drama with tel, rasoi, achar, Dhara walking, and Rishita calling mera dev.
But, let's be Honest, in this society, especially the Indian subcontinent, women are expected to move on. Their physical, mental, psychological health is often brushed under the carpet.
You'd see even during tremendous grief, sickness and trauma, the woman, is expected to brush aside everything and cater to the food of the family, sex for the man and emotional nurturer for the kids.
Pop culture, advertising, brands too reaffirm the notion!
Look at the tagline of Moov, for instance, and its television commercial -where a woman’s physical pain has to heal so that she could work some more.
Women are shown as wonder women and super mom's.
Women need healing time too.
Instead of Raavi being asked to do her first Rasoi, she should have been left to sleep more. Sometimes, sleep helps trauma.
Realistically, instead of sending Shiva to get a room, Dhara should have just hugged her and let her sleep with her.
Homes, to date, have no grief or trauma counselling for women. Women are supposed to be strong and heal other people!
It's wrong, and this shouldn't happen. Women are allowed to feel tired and rest! We should show women having meltdowns and sleeping more to recuperate.
Sigh! I can go on and on!
