That said, I have tried to watch many other Pakistani shows, and the general norm seems to be bholi bhali FL trope there too.

Kashaf seems to be a novelty. 😊

I wish they could compress many of our shows to finite length series- maybe even make it multi season. But I don’t think Indian audience is wired that way yet.

And seeing numerous Pakistani and Asian dramas as well- they can give crappy content in 15 episodes as well as amazing content in 100 episodes 🤷‍♀️ I think our problems are rooted in this TRP business. They should have a fixed storyline for 100-200 episodes and not be allowed to change it, unless it is problematic.

The problem is we don't have a finite series concept.the creatives are under a lot of pressure to fetch trps, introduce new tracks, keep the show running.the cliche trip and fall scenes, hero saves heroine from goons, these are much easier to write than a layered complex conversation between the leads.

I feel we have a lot of talented writers, but they are not given creative liberty.if the show does not fetch trps the channel interferes and ultimately that leads to a change in storyline. I have seen shows which started off on a brilliant note, with strong female leads and progressive storyline go down the drain due to the trp race.
