Lol. I have worked on a set and speaking from experience, not merely as audience. Age < 21 is the thing, not merely the age difference between actors. I can make an actor and actress enact many more audience enticing scenes if both are above a certain age. Otherwise as a crew member/writer/ etc etc I do have to give some thought to how the girl is young and it may look extra to give her certain kind of scenes. And then you always have audience complaining: Aisa hi scene nahi diya, rain dance kiss nahi diya blah blah blah

There are legal rules in place in contracts for those uner 21. They are only allowed to do certain scenes under propriety levels to protect their rights and to keep them away from abuse and exploitation. They have different clauses than those for adults.

A younger actor and/or older actress would make it better for them to connect with audience. ParSh was VERY loved during Sadda Haq because Randheer and Sanyukta were played by actors who could showcase sizzling chemistry without having age barriers. Makes more sense. Easier for makers to give them intimate scenes without care - We got lots of onscreen hugs, kisses, confessions, hot scenes. Here they are being a lil wary to stick to societal norms and make it easier for both parties to act with each other in such situations, its obvious.

@bold I agree but I think watching the show without caring about their offscreen lives(unless there's some issue) of actors might help even more... the thing that we get invested in their off-screen lives is what makes it difficult for us to connect... I never knew about the age difference and didn't even realise it! And it goes the same for majority of the audience.

I am a loyal sony viewer and can easily say that Sony rarely gives scenes which are intimate enough to creep us out on their age difference! Also it's just not only the intimate scenes which give chemistry, simple eyelocks too can make actors shine. The thing is your reason for watching a show matters, if it's just romantic scenes choose a good couple with proper age gap but if you want it just for entertainment which includes, comedy, romance, drama you can go for such shows.

Also if you're speaking about the kiss-miss scenes I was complaining about earlier that's an old joke in our forum... it has got nothing to do with IPZN!

OFFSCREEN friendship/bonding or what they do behind the camera is not my point of contention. It affects every element ONSCREEN too though on what is allowed and/or not. Do not wish to argue, just making it crystal clear how such a trend makes it difficult for audience to place CERTAIN expectations and for crew to deliver them. It is not fair to demand when it is impossible owing to contractual obligations + propriety + societal sense. Has nothing to do with actor/actress personal choice or consent in their own lives.

Same... jab tak we are getting entertainment and people working offscreen are comfortable with their work, it's all good for me😃

Just coz I spoke about Mohit and Kannika does not mean I give a penny about what happens between them offscreen. Patiala Babes was a redflag mentioned from same channel. S2 is creepy on romance. Another is Kyun Utthe Dil where so called ML molested FL because she is his wife and he is a Prince and they termed it as love. It is onscreen and running on Sony right now. Lotsa CREEPY scenes there and is promoting toxic abuse and pairing too. You are assuming offscreen bonding and that is why you are advising me on something I am not even talking about at all. It matters onscreen very much. Either ways, I do see it is pointless to argue since that was a joke.

The problem lies with the audience there... it's them who demand such things.

Also shows like IPZN come from Gul who has a tough skin... such demands won't even make her flinch so we shouldn't worry about it

From where did Mohika enter our convo?

I agree on PB... Ashnoor was 15 or 16 at that time if I am not wrong and that pairing was weird. Never disagreed on your that opinion.

Regarding KUDCA I haven't even watched a proper epi of that show but just watched clips available over IG and as far as Ik the ML you are talking about is Veer... loyal viewers themselves are confused as to who is the lead so we better don't decide on who the lead is and who will turn into a villain(IMO it's going to be Veer who will turn into a villain) also we were speaking about the offscreen comfort zone between actors not that crap post-leap story line of KUDCA.

I can name numerous sony shows which didn't have that intimate scenes and might probably fall under that <21 clause.

It matters onscreen only as long as we acknowledge offscreen... people can enjoy onscreen without caring about the offscreen things too(like the good old times)

Also if we debated over this topic all because of my that one kiss-miss joke post I would like to clarify- you can point out my mistakes. I understand you didn't know the joke and it's back story hence might have found it as an audience demand but considering it as an demand I would have preferred you saying 'Lavy check on the FL's age, she's too young for this' instead of this. Audience who demand for such things are wrong here, not the cast and crew!
