Films so bad they destroyed the actors' career

I remember all the hype around The Legend of Drona. Barring a few exceptions, period piece movies don't really excite me and definitely not with Abhishek playing a larger than life superhero as the central character, so I skipped it.

He could never command the same level of attention and appreciation as his dad and that was okay, cuz his career was still chugging along with some dignity, I think... but Drona in particular burned him big time ... it fell flat and took with it Abhishek's reputation all the way to rock bottom such that he had to reinvent himself.

Can you think of similar movies with other actors? Can you think of movies so terrible that it destroyed the actors' reputation or set them back by years if not back to square one?! Sound off below.

Same. 🤣 They probably wanted to set him up for superstar status if the movie had worked. Too ambitious for someone like him. I remember finding the trailers and songs so cringeworthy there was no way I was watching it and never did.

Oddly enough, PC was also in Love Story 2020, another career killer... before it could even start for poor Harman. They should really take it easy at least with debuts. Not every movie is KHNP like Hrithik's.

Did you know he also has a movie named "Mumbai se aaya mera dost?" Wow, I don't recognize half the movies he did 😆

Abhishek survived Drona because in the same year he had a superhit in Dostana and a success in Sarkar Raj where his work was well appreciated.

It was 2010 which did permanent damage to his career and he has not been able to recover since. Two big films with great directors, and author-backed roles. Bombed at the box office and received critics' wrath also. Especially Raavan. What must have been even more troublesome for AB was that the same film was made in Tamil with Vikram and Ash, and that was a hit. It was Abhishek that received a drubbing.

Post that he started riding on other actors and became their second fiddle as his other solo ventures bombed too. He played sidekick to SRK, Aamir, Akshay, Ajay Devgn, even Vicky Kaushal.

Same thing must have happened with The Big Bull, which despite being a decent film disappeared without a trace because the web series made on the same subject with Pratik Gandhi received so much widespread success.

Pure bad luck. But then again one can say it's good luck that he is receiving offers in the first place.
