Oh God

She is an actress..what diff it makes what religion she belongs to..what religion her mom is..what religion she practises and whats the religion of the guy she married

she played a pros in chameli..why no protest then on how she is not a pros in real life to do justice to that role..

actors are called actors coz they essay roles they may be poles apart from

there was a time when BW was really free from politics involving religion and nationality but off late this dirty politics has really made its way into arts and cinema..a medium supposed to be totally devoid of any bias based on religion or nationality..it is a horrible state of affairs..absolutely horrifying

Aside from the revolting bigotry I'm not sure why anyone thinks 12 cr is too much for a lead in a film that's reportedly going to take 8-10 months of pre production and filming for someone who was reportedly already making 6-8 cr for a couple months (if that) of filming. She could make at least 3 other movies during the same period and make more money. Salary is commensurate not only with star power, but the budget of the film and length of filming.

I bet no one blinks an eye when the rumored Ranveer Singh - not playing the lead - gets 2-3 times as much.

If she's charging 2 crore or 1 crore or I rupee or one paisa how does it concern us???? I mean kisi ko kya farq padta hai how much she's charging for a role she's supposed to do, it's her job and it's her RIGHT to ask for any amount she wants, the producer can say no to them. Neither are we the producers nor we are noble hearts who are dipped in purity to take offense

This is a terrifying state indeed. People don't judge you on the basis of your knowledge or work anymore. They judge you & pass verdicts on you on the basis of your religion.

I myself have faced situation somewhat similar to this. There was a serial on Sony TV named Surya Putra Karna & they showed absolutely rubbish stuffs there to glorify Karna! I commented few times on that show's episodes on YouTube because I happened to have read Mahabharata (most of the BORI edition and bits & pieces from Kishori Mohan Ganguly's translation) & just couldn't tolerate the absolute wrong storyline this show came up with.

I am not revealing my original name here, but let's just say this much that I have a hindu name but mohamedan surname because my father is Muslim while my mother is Hindu.

In reply to my comments very few people tried to counter me with the contextual facts. Most of them left hate comments on the basis of my surname & very rudely taunted me for being a muslim & yet commenting on something sacred like Mahabharata. Apparently my surname has already decided that I am not qualified to argue over Mahabharata & by countering the episodes' content I am trying to malign Mahabharata & Hindu religion at large.

I was shocked to say the least.

That's the state our country is in. That's how much brainwashed our people have become. No need to even see the real issue, just make a hue & cry over religion. No need to respect any Muslim, no need to listen to their point....if he/she is Muslim then he/she must be trying to malign Hindus & their beliefs.

On topic - If Kareena was still a Kapoor & not a Khan, no one would have bat an eye if she demanded even 50 crores for this role!

I am sorry for your experience!! YouTube comments section can be a horrible place sometimes!! I myself have gotten abused there before by a guy, just because my opinion was different from his, the kind of slurs and abuses he used, I can't even🤢. I try not to comment there much, because there is hardly any moderation there. And I pretty much agree with all your points, people are quick to judge others on the basis of their religion, caste, community etc. I would say the society has become much more regressive than it was a decade ago.And the sad part is that even a lot of educated people have this kind of mentality.I know many such people personally

Women have been considered as vessels of purity. And in order to maintain the purity of race, religion, caste, etc it is vital to ensure that they do not have a chance to procreate outside of their community. The easiest way to do this was to clamp down on their rights and ensure they have minimum of outside contact.

Purity aside, they're also considered baby making machines. If the babies being produced are not from the same community there is a double loss: community loses that count, competing community gains that count.

Itne lambe lifafe ka matlab yeh hai ki itna pressure aur aisa mahol bana diya jayega ki inter religious marriage ho hi na paye.

Later when the level of Sanskar is elevated, other things like caste etc could be added to the mix.

KKK married someone outside her community. She would be vulnerable to be set as an example to discourage other girls from the community.

Sorry for your experience. I'd suggest to not use your real name while commenting anywhere.

Unfortunately if people don't like your opinions, some douchebags try to dox you, including publishing your address, phone number and what not to other vicious trolls. In some countries like US, merely by knowing your name anyone can search your address, DOB, phone number, family members, etc.

Ranveer would be playing Ravan the anti hero - essentially a bad person so he can charge as much as he likes. But the actors playing Sita and Ram have to do it for free nahi toh we will boycott them, I mean read Ramayan man, to know how pious and sacrificing Ram and Sita were. #logic gai tel lene.

Geoffrey Boycott must be India's favorite cricketer. Boycott is baked right in the name.
