Sadly he is just a regular guy. And he is in a power/ control struggle with his own wife - who is very head strong . He has no idea how to deal with her- using the rules he is familiar with in his family. As I wrote in another post- men take liberties and freedom - behaving badly with those who are closest to them- their mom and wife . They shouldn’t and it doesn’t justify bad behavior but that’s how many men are.
It’s easier to behave properly when you have to preserve formalities right. He cannot assume that same freedom with Kaku or Pakhi. Even If he calls Pakhi a friend - she isn’t even as close to him as Sunny. Feeling as he is - confused and angry- He probably doesn’t want to talk to Pakhi in anyway and make matters worse- for or against or engage her in any conversation.
In Virat’s POV- he did nothing wrong - there is nothing between him and Pakhi. He cannot understand why Sai is upset. She was the one who used to tell him to go to Pakhi’s room to sit and talk. She was okay with them going to Ladakh together. He cannot understand what has hurt her because he hasn’t realized how much she cares for him. He has not hidden anything from her and she was so mad since the party, this morning she threw him and Pakhi together under the bus - his family members now probably think Pakhi and he have a full blown affair going on. When nothing could be further from the truth. Yes he hasn’t managed the situation well from the beginning but in his view he has done nothing wrong.
Also even though he asked Sai why she is mad after the party, she wasn’t able to give a clear answer because she herself doesn’t know why she is so hurt.
Anyway- that’s the way I interpreted it. Open for discussion 😄

And if Pakhi wants to start her Virat jhaap infront of the family - then it's only right that Pakhi gets the mooh todh jawab and questions infront of the family too.
