Ya phir she had an inherent knack in medicines (from her father, i.e., Bon's great grandfather, once Thakuma did mention that she had to take the responsibility of her father's business) so maybe she used to treat people, but not on a regular basis. She might have treated KSJ and her father would have arranged for their alliance without knowing that KSJ has chosen brahmachari jeevan to raise up Binoy's sons. So KSJ would have refused to marry in the mandap, baarat laut gayi and this might have caused heart attack or something to Thakuma's father. Thakuma might have got a shock, and thus the bitterness and taking over the business.
