Seriously? The guy cries telling Ahilya that he will lose his importance if Ahilya gets educated. He is a dramabzmaz and must be acting to fool Ahilya. If he cries and acts hurt because Ahilya wants to study because she wants to read some prayer books and to calculate accounts and to be more knowledgible if that makes him cry then he is such a bad character. Not understanding how a ranis who can set such a tough exam for Ahilya is illiterate. How is she so knowledgible then? Is it all hearsay?

A person's intelligence can't be measured by bookish knowledge or level of literacy. Some knowledge comes from practical experience and intellect. Even Akbar was illiterate but still he was efficient.

And Gautama's questions were more of a test of intellect , except the krushnaval one, so it has nothing to do with literacy or illiteracy. It's more about street smartness.

Akbar had ppl (greatly learned men) around him who read out books and told him about whatever he asked.

True, Ahilya has more practical experience and she is very observant and inquisitive. 👍🏼

Well, the whole track is made up, Ahilyabai was taught letters by her father and she knew how to read-write before marriage. After marriage she went on to acquire rare books and made a great collection in her library.

True It's an unnecessary addition made by the cvs. Probably they wanted to spread awareness about female education, but couldn't tackle the track properly.
