I wouldn't even have made the list for AVM 🤣 and his sanskars 🤪 ... not on a personal level but rather professional. Also the fact, my parents raised me to be independent of thought and use my fair judgement in various aspects of life. Plus, I learned early on that one needs to be financially independent in this world to have some freedom of choice. Also I am nice but I am blunt - i am patient and tolerant, but once that line is crossed, I can easily show people the door and never look back. I am just lucky / happy that I have had a supportive family - and my parents / Aunt / Uncle / Grandparents come from the same school of thought.

But to be so strong-headed is not easy in South-Asian households - and there are many cultural nuances etc that play in the back of your mind. I have seen girls in emotionally / physically abusive relationships, and how hard it was for them to get over sadness / depression but with support they were able to get out of toxic relationships. I even know one guy who got out of a relationship after it was more than apparent the girl is a gold digger.

With regards to the show, I have seen genuine nice / decent kids whose parents are just horrid like Sarla-Dadi combo. And viceversa - ppl like Mayank (though not as criminal as him), but who have parents that are the nicest. In these cases, I noticed their social environment outside the parents circle played a key role.
