I think his tragedy was an excuse to his psychopathic behaviour. He had no compassion or love on him. What he does was selfish and kills due to his obsession. If he really cared about his mother he wouldn’t have caused her pain. He was just obsessed with the idea of revenge.

He could have used other methods to get revenge, nothing excuses taking life of innocents.

As it’s said.. there’s a difference between getting justice and revenge.

I think the original story (based on a novel) - A Kiss Before Dying works better because there is no attempt to make him sympathetic. There's no revenge with attendant weak excuses for murder. He's just a greedy sociopath trying to murder and marry into a fortune.

Easy to say it when you're not the one being wronged. His father and little sister died, mother went crazy when he was just a child. Obviously he's going to have some messed up issues.

So, there are many people in this world, who loose their families to murderers. They don’t go around killing innocents. Many people understand the pain and help others so that others don’t go through it!

By "you", I was talking in general.

There are many people in the world, so there would be many different kinds of people as well.

Those who don't take revenge for their injustice, it's because they are too weak, lazy, scared and not motivated enough. Not because they are good and noble people.

If given a chance to take revenge, considering they get away with it, most would do it.

But, is it right to take revenge that way? Harming the innocent? Why didn't he go to the main culprit instead? By killing Shilpa, he became same like them ...So, that revenge word doesn't get sympathy for him.

Revenge is always personal. It's not supposed to be righteous.

I suppose in the movie, he never planned to kill Shilpa's character. He wanted to use her to get to her dad, but then he couldn't do it, so he went behind Kajol's character.

When he succeeded, Shilpa's character became a liability. He killed her so that she doesn't expose him, and all other murders he did later on was to hide the first one.
