Maybe in the past vyom and Vansh were BFFs. Vyom had a GF who asked him to get the tear of laila for her. Vansh not knowing about this, stole it..and vyom's gf left him

or

Just like how vansh is kidnapped now, Vyom's gf got kidnapped in the past and the kidnappers asked for the diamond..Vansh again not knowing this stole it and they killed his gf

The first one sounds more likely though.
