Since Suman won’t reach until the evening. Can we still expect some ShiVi scenes?

Also with the way they stretch each day, Suman might not make an appearance till Saturday maybe

Cause they’ll definitely want to show how they cook and eat separately

With Maami coming, they can’t continue to cook separately and not expect maami to run it all in Suman’s face

Even today a lot of people, families in India do think that “spare the rod, spoil the child”. This is completely NOT justified, it is NOT correct, but it is there, nonetheless.

I have a feeling that a lot of the people on the forum are from more urban, progressive setups. But in small towns, hitting as a form of discipline is normalized. You may not have seen it in your vicinity, but it is very much prevalent in certain strata of society in India( I grew up in such a household. My family members still stand by it 🤷‍♀️)

I strongly suspect a large portion of the TRP audience are tied to such households. If you have followed ITV for last 2-3 decades, they have pulled worse crap than this.

When I see ITV shows, I generally tend to disengage the part of me that looks for sensitive protrayals and sensible family meme era. There have been a lot of discussions on the effects of TRPs on shows. Let’s not go down that rabbit hole.

I look at this way. You are taking an outsiders look at a family. The members are always a mix(as in real life) where you love some, you hate some. Family members sometime do heinous things- humans sometimes do heinous things. Not everyone repents, not especially the way you want to. And you can’t do anything about it.

Case in point-Maami. She was truly cruel before the leap. What she did was truly heartbreaking for the family- PS family have struggled so much for her insensitivity and cunningness. But today we look forward to her scenes as comic relief and complain about what the poor thing is going through by Suman.

Detachment is the name of the game. Look out for what you like. Ignore the crap. Hope for better outcomes. It’s a show at the end of the day. No point getting your BP up for it.

That said, I am not condoning beatings. It is bad, it should not happen, and it is a good sign that so many people are speaking up. Hopefully the next generation of people watching ITV shows don’t get to see such scenes( I know for the longest time ITV used to normalize marital rape, especially Ekta serials. But now it is looked down upon. I hope)

Sorry for the long rant, but it’s heartbreaking to see everyone so down on the forum. Hoping for better days ahead!

My issue is not so much that Dhara hit them. Judging by the behavior of all the other characters, and the references to the past incidences, I don't think they were being hit for the first told. I just watched the bus episode and Dev/Shiva fight, where Dhara gives belan ki dhamki, and Shiva says 'mein maar khalunga'. I'd guess bachpan mein bhi maar padi hogi.

My issue is the EXTENT of maar. ..itnaaaa maarne se kya mil gaya? Ek apology to Rishita...which I DOUBT was genuine. So why the drama and the pointless justification by people? Bhabhi ka HAQ hai...galti Shiva/Krish ki hai... prank ki saza hai...they DESERVE it... it's the real opinions that baffle me completely smh

Oh I do agree that an entire generation has grown up with corporal punishment and normalized it....bachpan mein kaafi belan mujhe bhi pade hai. But apart from increasing my anger and resentment, main sudharne waalo mein se nahi thi.

And that's exactly my point tho... Shiva/ Krish are GROWN people with khud ki soch. They have their own independent sense of right and wrong. Their behavior and opinions are NOT going to change wrt Rishita because maar padi. They may become cautious because of guilt wrt Dhara...but problem solve nahi hui..

On a lighter note, 100% agree that it's best to be detached while watching an ITV show. In the past year, I've binged wayyyy too many shows. I usually last 100-150 episodes before finding something else to watch. Main story se matlab hai lol... but yahan wahin nahi ho raha hai. I honestly thought I'd last longer here considering Shivi story has just started ... that why the account on desi reddit lol..par ab pata nahin

I see Rishita taking up the role of a vamp in the future. The writers are so portraying her in a bad light and making her the reason for the issues between the family members even when she has some valid points.

They will make Rishita the bad guy first and then have the whole redemption arc where again, Dhara would be the one to make Rishita realize her mistakes🤪

Kanwar and Alice, I love! Even Simran is good at being Rishita but I ain't sure about Akshay, or maybe it's just how the makers are trying to portray Dev to be like so it might not be Akshay's bad acting but the badly written character that Dev is.

There are no vamps in the original, why do they want to ruin a positive family story, along with an awesome love story of an unlikely couple😭

Here I am expecting a huge drama for that as well😕

I somehow cannot take Dhara’s sacrifice seriously- she is 29 years old. It is not very hard for her to conceive- it’s pretty common these days.

In the original, Dhanam was 33 years old. While it is not unheard of to have a baby in 30s, her chances of getting pregnant are definitely much lower than Dhara’s logical.

ofcourse, I concede that Dhara would have had to listen to taunts from the society about not having a baby, which is in itself a ridiculous practice and should not be propagated

This isn't a positive family story. It is a fake portrayal of how joint families are. I ain't commenting about the original story, I am talking about Pandya Store here.

Not having a baby of their own when the situations were like as shown in the show, is NOT a sacrifice! And why do people want to give birth to a baby on their own when they can adopt. Just in case if they show that Dhara can no longer have babies for any reason, I would like to see GauRa adopting a child from out of the family. But ofc, the writers will show us the drama of baby-exchange, a mother sacrificing her love and giving her child to the other.🤪

Here Shivi's 1 MU has been stretched for more than a month in episodes but they are still on the 5th day of their marriage😆Looks like Pandya parivar can pack things to do in 24 hrs which usually require 48-72 hrs for us in real life🤣

they have a time turner 😱
