I guess someone else contributes for groceries items. Like in Bengali version, it was Gabu who only contributes for groceries and vegetables and does grocery, fish, vegetables, meat and sweet shopping so it was offensive for him that Tublu bought things with Rono's money.

So may be here, they wanted to show that Virat doesn't contribute in the groceries and vegetables (though he's the only earning member) but today he was doing because his wife said that
