But you're right about the relationships he currently values and the actually value of those relationships. Keeping an intact family is important to him.

My guess is Shaurya will realize at some point after the whole soch conflict with Anokhi that the only way to keep the family intact is to change the soch. To find a middle ground between controlling and letting everyone run wild. In other words happy people make happy families. The good thing is Anokhi is wise beyond her age so he will find a strong partner and wingman in her.

I don't see Tej really opposing any of this as long as he is assured of SIAC running his way and he gets his respect. It is Devi who will bear the brunt of most of it.

On a different note frankly I do not see misogyny running wild in Sab family - they are hypocrites and classist snobs. Devi has a problem with Kanchan wearing an off shoulder sari and taking pictures at her friends wedding but Shagun is running around wearing a crop top and some skirt version of towel and that is acceptable. No one can convince me that Devi intends to put Shagun through how to make right phulka exercise like Tejvi did with Kanchan. CS does not seem capable of spending 5 minutes in kitchen or taking care of the family.

They want bahus to be treated like doormat by their spineless sons ( Alok, Shaan and Yash) but that attitude does not extend to daughters of the family. This is not truly a regressive family like Bhallas or Bhatias. It is all about reins of control being held by Tejvi, the soch is a part of their toolbox.

I need to hear why Shaurya actually backed off the engagement but I still maintain that it was not Shaugun going to study that irked him, it was his sense of betrayal at Shagun not complying with pre-decided expectations, him feeling manipulated and not trusted at the timing of breaking the news at the eve of engagement and lastly his fiancé choosing something else over him that drove him to break the engagement. It triggered his sense of abandonment and Devi egged him on. To me it was no different than Anokhi agreeing to marry her father's choice when they agreed to support her education but her running off when she discovered they were lying to her.

I am excited about precap too. One of my KP is someday Shaurya recommending Anokhi for higher education in Cambridge .
