PART 7
Janardhan seth was a goon and a well known one. He had his reputation of doing bad deeds. Some people feared him. Some even respected. Andsome just tolerated him for his Moti Behn. He too did many things for hissister, Kamini Seth for he was a brother also. But the most important role he missed was being a father. He was never that close with his two daughters even though he loved them immensely. He had always tried to give them the best. So when his eldest child, Rishita told him about Dev Pandya he was not sure. He knew Gautam well and had a grudge against his goodness. He had always respected ands ometimes admired pandyas bond. What worried him was they might not be able to provide his Rishita all the luxury and comfort she grew up with and was habituated to. Still he had reluctantly taken the proposal to Pandyas on his sister and daughter’s insistence. There, all his worries washed away as hewitnessed his daughter being showered with so much love and adoration. He doubted if his own family was capable was such kind of love. Luxurious life ornot, his Rishita would be the happiest in this house among these people. Theh would make sure of it. It felt they had already adopted her in the family. At that instant, Janardhan Seth accepted the relation whole heartedly.
The marriage was fixed. Kamini Seth wanted the marriage to take place around her election time as it would benefit her publicity, so both the families decided to get them hitched after 5 months. Dev and Rishita were okay with it. Dev started freelancing along with helping in the store. Gaumbhi asked him take up acorporate job but Dev refused. He wanted to help them in the store. Now with the store’s popularity and their plan of expanding it, work had doubled up andthey needed all the hand they could get.
So 4 and half months later, another marriage preparation started in the Pandya Niwas along with Dhara’s baby shower ceremony. Dhara had stepped in her 7 month. The baby shower was to happen 3 days before the wedding rituals started. So the house was once again in chaos.
“haye mujhe toh apni shadi ke baat yaad aa rahihai”, Raavi exclaimed dreamily as she, Krish and Dev slumped down on the sofa in the hall. The boys was exhausted from all the running for next day’s baby shower function. They frowned at he renthuastic tone wondering where did she get this much energy!
“aise bol rahi hai jaise teri shadi huyi barso beet gaye!! aur teri shadi shadi kam Sanjay leela bhansali ke film set jyada tha”,
“haa yaar guest attend karte karte mere to jaise kamar hi lock ho gaya tha”, Dev winced at the memory,
“iss baar tumhara kya hoga Deva?” , Gautam asked sitting on the step there. Dev frowned confusedly at his question, “tu toh mla ki bhanji se shadi kar raha hai”,
“tera SLB nehi, Yash Chopra style mein shadi hoga. 15 functions 1576 guests”, Krish exclaimed dramatically, Dev looked at them horrified as Raavi and Krish laughed hi-fing each other.
“soch le Dev, shadi karega ya nahi. Umr kaid ki saza sunaya jayega tujhe”, Gaumbi joked ,
“accha matlab tum aab umr kaid ki saza bhugat rahi ho”,Dhara said narrowing his eyes at Gaumbi as Shiva helped her sit on the swing,
“bilkul nahi. Shadi toh ashirvad hota hai, baba Somnath ka. Shiva se puch!”, Gaumbi smiled sweetly at Dhara,
“Shiva ko toh faasi ka dand diya gaya hai”, Krish commented earning glares from Raavi and smirk from Shiva,
“tu nah Shiva ke sang chod de. Fir tujhe aakal ayega”,
“Khud ki akal ko vacation se bapas laut ne ko bol. Aur aate aate iss gadhere ka akal ko dhoond ke lane ko bol na”, Shiva said walking off to kitchen as the mentioned duo glared at his back. Raavi shook her and exclaimed with excitement,
“dii, chaliye main aap ko mehndi laga deti hu. Aab lagayenge toh khub rang charega”, Raavi settled beside her as Dhara lovingly caressed her face,
“aur tujhe kaun lagayega?”,
“aap ke itne saare gadhera devar hai. Koyi na koyi toh kaam aa jayega”, she faked displeasure over Krish and Dev’s already tired look and made faces at Shiva who just returned with Dhara’s food,
“ayy mami ke behan ki beti, tu apna chalti train ko kuchder band rakh. Kisi din tere muh tere chapar chapar se tang aa ke bhag jayega”, Gaumbi went away smiling at the young couple,
“bilkul ussi tarah nah jiss tarah tere sharafat tujhechod ke chala gaya” ,Shiva scowled ready to reply back as he sat on Dhara’s other side,
“agar tum dono ladna band nahi kya ABHI toh main...main tum dono ko haath kuch nehi lene wali hu”, Dhara said sternly looking at ShiVi. Both had their hand stretched towards her – one with a morsel of food, another with the mehndi cone. They glared each other but nodded at Dhara whoforwarded her hand to Raavi smiling wide and opened her mouth for Shiva. And just like that the bickering between the ladaku couple paused for the moment.

Next day,
Raavi was greeting the guests with Gaumbi standing at the entrance. Dhara comfortably sat on the sofa decorated for her. Rishita and Krish was with her and they were laughing together. Shiva and Dev was busy rechecking the arrangements and making the guests comfortable.
“Tu kab khush khabri dene wali hai Raavi beta?”, anold lady asked as Raavi welcomed her. Raavi was taken aback with such question. She didn’t know what to answer that. They had never thought about that. She felt Shiva's present behind her before hearing his voice.
“kya kaki, pehle iss bacchi ko toh bara hone do.Warna iski tarah aur ek aayegi aur bichme main pagal hojaunga”, Raavi rolled her eyes,
“meri jaisi hi ayegi – sweet, cute, beautiful. Tera tarah bhoothnath thodi nah hoga”, Shiva gave her a bored look,
“ kyun ek masum ke zindagi barabad kar na chahte ho aap kaki”, everyone looked at Krish confused,
“kya matlab tera Krish”,
“Bacche aane ke baad inko aur inke ladai ko bacche hi sambhalenge na. Yeh dono toh bade hone se rahi”, Krish immediately ran off saying this. He knew now Shiva would come after him.
“tu ruk”.
Gaumbi shook his head laughing. Krish was right. When their kids would come, Dhara would be able to retire from her referee role.

As everyone blessed Dhara one by one, ShiVi stood together watching her glowing face. Every now then Dhara would turn to beam at Gaumbi who didn’t move his eyes from her face. GauRa looked something different altogether. They looked almost serene and content. ShiVi looked at each and Raavi intertwined her hands with Shiva's resting her cheek on his arm. They didn’t know what they were doing when they decided to get married and actuallygot married. They just knew they would fulfil their marriage vows with heart and would be with each other always. They weren't sure how? How they wanted the other in their life? Now standing here watching their ideal couple, they knew they wanted something similar to these.

Shiva came into their room after freshening up to find Raavi sitting in front of the dressing table. He sat on the bed resting his back on the headrest, legs stretched out. He observed his wife who was yet to acknowledge his presence. She was lost in some thought. He was thankful to those thoughts. For once his chipkali didn’t buzz around him inquiring whether he actually bathed or not. She even threatened to bath him if he didn’t listen. Well, not a bad idea- he accepted. He might demand for it when the right time would come. For now, he needed to know what was bothering her.
“Ayy mami ke behan ki beti, itna kya soch rahi”,Raavi blinked at the mirror owlishly and stared at him through it. Shiva raised his eyebrow,
“main kaki ne joh kaha usske bare mein soch rahi hu”,
“kyun”,
“humne kabhi iss bare mein socha hi nahi”, Shiva knew what was running in her mind. The same thing was in his mind too. They never discussed what they wanted from this relation. How they were gonna take it forward? Marriage was many thing. Apart from the couple, their families too kept expectations from them. His mother was at peace finally getting to see Gaumbi's child. He knew she would be expecting the same from him and Raavi very soon. These things never crossed their mind while getting married. They didn’t think that deep. In fact, they never thought anything deeply or did anything planning it perfectly to T. They just took every step at time facing the situation spontaneously. And that made them Shiva and Raavi.
“pata hai tujhe, jab humare shadi ho raha tha, main sure nahi tha. Hum ek dusre se pyar nahi karte the. Shayad samajh the the ek dusre ko. Par kya woh zindagi bitane ke liye kafi hoga?” Raavi turned to look at him hearing him all attention, “Fir maine socha Gaumbi aur bhabi bhi samjhota ke shadi kiye the. Unn logone dil se nibhaya hai woh rishta. Saat chala hai ek dusre ke. Aise saat chalte huye unnlogo ne pyaar ka pata pa liya ”, Raavi walked to the bed as he spoke. He folded his one knee up and she sat in fornt of him resting her chin on his knee, wrapping her around his thigh, “ par shadi ke baad mujhe realise hua na tu bhabi hai na main Gaumbi. Hum toh unnke bilkul opposite hai. Humare rishta bhi unnke tarah nahi. Bhabi ne Gaumbi ko raji karwa tha shadi ke liye. Lekin yaha tune mere pe bomb daal diya. Par jo bhi hua hum dono ne sambhal liya. Aage bhi aise hi sambhal lenge. Tu ne abhi abhi job join kiya hai. Tujhe apna career bhi bana na hai. Islliye inn sab baton ka pressure na le. Humare rishta jaisa bhi hai mere liye khubsoorat hai. Jaanta hh pyar nahi hai, par joh bhi hai kaafi hai mere liye”, Raavi stared at his face dazed. She was amazed at his words. Shiva was a man of less words more actions. Words were her tools. But whenever he spoke, he spoke his heart. That made her admire her bhoothnath a bit more. He was a bhoothnath who never called her by her name and without his given nicknames. But how effortlessly he banished whatever was nagging her mind. She never thought she would feel lucky to be married to her kirane ka dukan. He was her story's villain. But again she was his story's vamp right? He was her pishach, hers only. She leaned forward and touched his lips softly with hers. He immediately reciprocated her and tugged her close. She opened her mouth and he tilted their heads deepening the kiss. The slow kiss turned into a passionate one. He had pulled her on his lap holding her as close as possible while she clutched his hair near his nape. They broke it for lack of oxygen but kept their eye contact. It was not the first kiss they shared. Still it was their first kiss that was so passionate and evoked such strong emotions between them. Their first kiss happened a month ago which was kind of sloppy, experimental type with both hesitant and unsure. Second, third and fourth followed immediately but they were simply warm, gentle and careful.A series of kisses were shared between them since then. Some of them were tender,some rough and hurried, some exploring and some reassuring. But this kiss made them feel so many things. This made them sure of their physical attraction that they were aware of. This one felt like a promise. A promise to fall in love. She was one who dreamed about her future a lot. But she didn’t want to dream a fairy tale anymore, for her reality something more beautiful , “jaise chal raha haiaise hi chal ne dete hai. Yeh joh anjane ehsas hai na ajeeb hai par accha hai.Mujhe hum pe viswas hai, hum bhi waha kabhi na kabhi pohonch hi jayenge”, Shiva whispered against her lips capturing them again. Love wasn’t needed at that moment. It would appear at the right moment only. And they would accept it with open arms.

Raavi opened her eyes as her phone rang loudly. She tried to ignore it and it stopped. Happy, she snuggled more in to the bed only to hear a heartbeat. She tilted her head upward and felt a gentle breath touch her forehead.She smiled realising where she was. In this four months, she and Shiva shared the same bed but slept on two opposition end. But last night, he just caged her in his embrace and dozed off leaving her to process what's going on. Well, she liked the new arrangement. She tried to go back to sleep but her phone rang again. Shiva groaned and moved his hand around trying to find it.
“ayy mami ke behan ki beti, tu kam tha kya joh apna phone ko bhi mujhe irritate karne ka training de rahi hai”, he shoved her phone on her hand as she sat up coming out of his embrace, eyes still close,
“Aab mere phone se bhi ladna matt shuru kar dena”,
“lagta hai karna parega. Already mere dusman ban rahi hai”, Shiva mumbled missing her warmth but went back to sleep nonetheless.
