Like you said, Shaurya can't be forced into marriage, but maybe he can be guilted into it. He would do anything for Devi. Will they take the cliched route of a sick parent that he wants to make happy? Will the Sabherwal name be on the line? Will SIAC be on the table? What would Shaurya sacrifice Anokhi for? Clearly Anokhi would pick her education/career over his "regressive soch". But would he pick his life's work and family's reputation over Anokhi???
Honestly that family does not deserve Shaurya's love. I keep thinking of how much he does for that family and how burdened he feels. Think, despite all the neglect, he still takes care of Shaan. When Aastha disappeared, he was supporting Shaan and then when he heard about the divorce he went to talk to Shaan (who assumed he told Devi that Aastha was living in his apartment useless man) and then when the divorce papers were signed he was the only one genuinely asking if Shaan was okay (to which that idiot gave him a sarcastic reply). He has always done everything that Tej wants and even when leaving to go see Anokhi apologized so respectfully because he is so indebted to Tej. With Devi he always gives in and despite her suffocating love which Tej criticizes her about, he still justifies her actions and doesn't fault her. The way she emotionally manipulates him all the time and he gives in despite probably seeing through it just for her happiness. His desperation when Kanchan and Gayatri were being thrown out of the house to change Tej's mind and the way he plays interference when Devi tried to get Kanchan to stop dancing during his bday just so that she could have that moment with Yash. This man truly gives his whole heart to his family because he recognizes the importance of it and the value of people who choose to stay. And I don't think that the Sabherwals don't love him, they really do. They do care for him too. But they also have lied to him to keep him close. They have also subjected him to pain for the sake of their ego and family honor. Which is why I don't think he'll cut them off completely but he will definitely feel betrayed and hurt that Devi put him through so much pain just because of her insecurities. And at the end he will at least come out of feeling indebted to them.
Lol i'm gonna stop before I keep rambling about him because you know me and my love for Shara Bear I can keep going forever! But wrt the marriage I did think for a hot second that Devi would emotionally manipulate him and that maybe there was some business deal between the Kapoors and the Sabherwals that could have been struck where this marriage is important for that to go through. I guess we'll have to see for all we know they are going to give us a meh justification in the end, a deus ex machina type thing, and we will just have to go along with it 😆 But I have hope with these CVs
