Those destined to go against the grain

Just caught up on the epi and really enjoyed the Imlie-SK-Mithi scenes :)

There is such an earthy, rooted vibe to their interactions always....a directness in the way they all talk to each other which is so refreshing after many episodes of twisted torture by she who must not be named.

Imlie currently is reeling with disillusionment simply over being told that Adi has gone back to Malini.....We should set aside all the obvious evidence of him still being least interested in Malini cuz AC's harsh words have managed to make Imlie question all the things she thought she understood.....so now she's musing over whether the marriage has validity in Delhi (worth noting that she never dwelled on the validity before also....her stance was always about faith and that is what she conveyed to Adi also....ki rishta toh ban gaya hai....maannna na maanna is up to each person's perception), she's musing about whether Adi really loved her or he was just taking pity on her😆......

All of this is coming from a long buried sense of uncertainty that she never really confronted before. The uncertainty was there even when she used her faith to get her through every dark phase.....she held on to her faith in the face of all uncertainty and she kind of still is.....but she just feels tired now and the uncertainty is making her feel off balance.....that is what I understood of her conversation with Mithi and SK as they question her about the status of her marriage with Adi. Imlie as usual doesn't blame Adi and goes back to the root cause of the marriage being a forced one where nobody bothered to check if Adi already had someone in his life. They keep showing the FB of Adi putting the sindoor on her and giving her saath ka vaada.....lol....and for some reason I guess Imlie has now reached the conclusion that he isn't going to give her saath cuz he has gone back to Malini? lol......not like I'm really trying to look for logic in all this cuz I can see that a sense of contrivance is there to set up the confession/reunion for next week......but it does seem like Imlie is feeling a sense of loss over not being able to be with Adi (even though she herself left his house and he still kept asking her to come back but she was the one who refused😆).....and the lack of being with him, not being able to communicate with him is taking a toll on her sense of certainty/faith.

Anyways, Imlie's vakaalat/confusions over her Babusahib aside😆, the heartwarming trio from PD was lovely to watch together. The thought that I kept coming back to was that there are some people who are just not destined to travel the paths assigned by society and they will always face a rough road because of that.....I was seeing that manifested in the way Mithi told Imlie that SK is your father....the only man who's had his hand on your head since the day you were born.....this is a beautiful relationship which has no recognition from society so it will always face questioning and derision since it doesn't fit into a box. This series of events started with Mithi but ofcourse it is impacting Imlie's life too.....yet somehow watching mother-daughter together in that moment still having a sense of dignified resolve about them just reminded me why I watch this show and which characters/scenes I watch it for.....it is these bonds that rise above the boxes that society tries to slot them in and still maintain their convictions, their beauty.....this is when the show is at its best. That is what SK-Imlie-Mithi are.....the most heartwarming family in this show :)

Despite the overall drag, I liked these family scenes today.....Imlie getting some of her anchors back at a time when she has been utterly isolated.....and her ultimately coming back to her faith in her Sita Maiyya when all feels uncertain. I also found something very endearing about the last bit when SK is just staring at her as she is lost in thought staring at her Sita Maiyya idol.....you can just sense his love and concern for Imlie in the smallest of gestures......they feel like such a genuine family together. Nice to get that bit of nice family bonding in the haze of the other crap going on this week😆

Glad you decided to write about the only good thing to come out of this episode!

Satyakam’s surprise when Mithi took his name was so heartening to watch. He completely expected Mithi to either not tell Imlie or take Dev’s name. Dev never mattered and now he has been all but erased. We will obviously get the whole sister drama at some point but his role in it is as good as being useless.

Like we need anymore reminders about why even Imlie’s family is different to the losers - Mithi and SK heard Imlie out. And all they wanted to do first was talk and know the entire truth of the situation. The fact that Satyakam wants to instill the fear of god in Aditya is a whole different thing but their level-headedness in that moment spoke volumes.

Absolutely loved this scene! And their hug at the end was really beautiful, you said it so right these three make such a beautiful family and their love for each other is so pure, unconditional!❤️

Loved Satyakam’s love for his daughter and his determination to take down the shehri for hurting his precious daughter, any father would want to punish the one who has given his daughter pain and here Satyakam feels that Aditya babu has betrayed him especially his imiliya so he’ll not sit quitely and Adi babu would have to bear imliya’s Dada wrath!

Eagerly waiting for Adi-Sk faceoff, really hoping for bombastic dialogues from Satyakam!

Haha I watched late cuz I didn't want to ruin my mood raat ko after hearing about all the crap AM bits in the epi :P

But word on the bold....the way they all talked to each other so calmly even if they disagreed....and so much ground was covered in one convo....it just felt SANE after so many days of being made to marinate in the monstrosity of AC and her psycho beti ke minds.

LOL SK extracting his pound of flesh from Adi is a seperate matter😆....and we will watch that with popcorn when the time comes but as you said, the level-headed aspect of this scene really won me over :)

And yes thanks alot for saying this, i was bit confused after hearing imlie’s confusion regarding her babusaheb’s love for her, thanks for understanding her and making me understand her a lil bit too😆

You said it right that Anu’s torture has taken a big toll on her and she herself has always believed that babusaheb only belongs to Malini so Anu’s words has just stamped on her thoughts that he can never be hers despite all the things he has done and said to her, so Anu’s tube light ka war has awakened fierce imliya but has managed to put a break on her thoughts about babusahebs love rather put it on a reverse gear lol, hope she is able to see his love again and is able to understand her emotion sickness too!

Sane it was! I mean there was so much clarity despite the questions and doubts. SK even brought up Imlie’s sole purpose - education. None of it was forgotten. And most importantly - they calmed Imlie down. I mean she will still feel dejected considering she is going through a lot but if this, clarifying perspectives, is not what parents are for, then what is the use of having them in your life. Mithi and SK stabilized her for a bit and did not drag her down the tangent of my father is an idiot saga.

Good you did not watch it when it came on. The daughter is bad already so we all are used to it. But the scene with the mom was more awful I thought. Those lines they gave her were beyond crass.

Honestly that was one of the most heartwarming scenes to watch, it was a much needed scene and it needed to be said aloud that SK was the only father Imlie had.

Dev is at most a sperm donor and I'm to happy and proud of Imlie for saying that she doesn't want a relationship with the man who betrayed her mum, she just wants a name.

I'm not surprised about stubborn she is being about that, especially after staying with Anu who kept throwing this in her face.

I just hope we get to a point where Imlie doesn't even care about the name and proudly declares to all that SK is her father if she's ever put in a situation like the one Anu put her on.

Not that she has to explain her self to anyone anyways tbh.

It's nice to see that biological parent is not being shown as the only valid option. It's actually those who are there for us every single step of the way that matter than those whose just donated sperm/egg.

Blood is not everything.

Just look at SK and the way he is standing up for his daughter who's been in a whole other city and the fire of revenge you can see in his eyes for the way Adi treated her.

Whereas Dev who she lived in the same house with couldn't keep her safe from his abusive wife or couldn't even take care of her for more than half a day. He's more concerned with whitewashing his sins indirectly to her than actually provide and care for her.

Who would leave their daughter in such a household knowingly without barely a worry.

Look at SK teaching his daughter that she doesn't have to leave her education for a man and that she should move on instead of wallowing.

Whereas we know what Dev-Anu taught theirs when it comes to the affairs of men.
