In my opinion This scene was added to show that the whole base if this relationship is Canada and Fateh’s Job

its Love from Fateh’s side but Jasmine said Yes only for Kaneda and you could see how Fateh’s was so lost as he didnt hv trust on his love and smwhere he know he can lose Jasmine if Job ll lose, his love stands nowhere

We will evetually come to know about the detailing of this scene in upcoming episodes

Maybe it was done to create last minute misunderstandings. And yes, you are right that the base of Jasfa's relationship lies on Fateh migrating to Canada with her.
