Infatuation has turned into obsession. Problem with ITV is that obsession is often portrayed as "loving with a passion" and not just in this show. So the audience is left banging their heads on the wall. I've realised there is no point in trying to analyse Pakhi's character. She is a poorly written character. Period. Even obsessive love can be written well - like Cathy and Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights. In this case, the writers are neither here nor there.

It seems like writers have no idea what to do about her and her acting makes it so painful to watch her onscreen

When someone says I can't spoil my brother's happiness, please I can't accept our relationship, we need fo forget each other. The other person breaksdown, either get married accepting fate or cancel the wedding with the brother of the "not yet lover".

Pakhi : Marries Samrat to be able to see Virat, expects Virat to never move on his life, confesses love to Virat on wedding night.

When someone's husband whom they never wanted to get married to goes MIA, they breakdown and wait or they move back to their parents house after some days or plan to end the relation with their husband.

Pakhi : Confused as what to feel, feels sorry for family members, calls up Virat frequently to be there with her, to return to her, calls up Virat to help her with her loneliness and misery (not sure what the misery is, she must be happy that Samrat went MIA) and stays back in her sasuraal expecting and praying Virat to return. (Samrat went MIA or Virat? 😲)

Except that I didn't expect her to pray and expect for Samrat to return who was nothing to her (emotionally, not by rituals). She loved Virat so expected him to return.

That gives the creepy feeling so they need to work on it if they don't want it too look like more than just devaar bhabhi relationship.
