I have read only Mafia and historical romances this past month. My goodreads total has gone to 28 😕which is way past my whole years target (25).This is what happens to me in lockdown. I end up reading more books than I anticipated. I read some books from Bridgertons series. I loved "The gentleman's offer. Also the monster in his eyes series by JM Darower was really good. Read some novellas too. Oh! And I finally read Corrupt by Penelope douglas. I didn't like it and I am not going to continue with the series. I wonder why people are so into the series. I found it amassed with pointless taboos and useless sex scenes.

And yes to the marathon, whenever you all agree. I am so down with it. I don't have much going on anyways.

Since you seem to be very much into historical fiction...have you read anything by kristin hannah?

Have any of you started reading Sputnik Sweetheart?

I'm 50 pages in and so far, I haven't been feeling very motivated to read this book. I read somewhere that this book has a dreamlike quality to it, and I thought I'd like it because Rebecca was like that and I loved it, but try as I might, I'm not being able to connect with the characters, or care about what happens to them. There are more similes and metaphors than there is actual story here, and I feel like I'm not patient enough to go through it.

I can see why some people would love it and others might not. I don't personally love or hate it, but I feel indifferent to the story and its characters.

What are your thoughts so far, if any of you have started reading?

I did start it without realising its about homosexuality. Didnt feel comfortable reading it during Ramadan so I will try it after Eid

No offence to anyone though

A while ago, somebody was asking about an alternate audiobook site besides vk. I have found one. Audiboi. It's better than vk as it gives the option to change speed and it has an amazing collection as well. I have found books that I wasn't able to find on vk. 👍🏼

I visited the site but couldn't do much due to poor internet connection. I can't find a search button though. And do you have to sign in?

There is a Search button at the top right corner. And no need for sign up. There is also download option available but that's only for premium users.
