The way i see it (could be totally stupid observation of mine), the way in a haste he promised our vahini to just get her out of the room. Similar in a haste he told Sai don't expect anything and you can leave whenever you want. For him, Sai was never interested in him.

Also the way Sai kept on asking him, reminding him - I always felt she always wanted a real marriage and somewhere she felt he was doing it half heartedly.

The way she looked at him post marriage when he leaves the room says it all. For her, she was never interested in her.

It came as an arranged marriage, where now they have known each other on a different level. At their best and at their worst. Now the dynamics have changed.

I think Sai knew he loves someone and that was actually bothering her so she also made it look she is happy with the deal marriage. And he probably thought she is forced to marry him while she kind of dislikes him for being the reason of her father's death.

Yes, true. But, yesterday when she held his hand and the way she kept her finger on his lips it looked as if there was more to the relationship than just a deal.

IMO Virat is clear about his feelings for Sai. So he doesn’t really leave an opportunity. But he is careful not cross the line as this is a one sided love for him as of now.

Sai is fighting an internal battle with her mind and heart. She goes all out to fight for her rights as a wife. Thats her heart who has fallen in love and wants to be his wife in every sense. And so she plays along with Virat in their cute romantic nok jhok. She is insecure and possessive in her own way. But apart from handholding virat has actually not touched her intimately. We as audience can see their passion and chemistry even in just handholding. Holi moments of under dupatta was in an intoxicated state. So in his senses they have not even shared a hug voluntarily yet. Only accidental or dream hugs have happened. Lol.

So virat knows he is starting to feel for Sai. But hes worried of rejection maybe.

Sai knows she cares for him a LOT but is in denial of her feelings because of his words before marriage and because of pp's looming presence 24x7 with nonstop interference making it obvious that she is obsessed with virat. Thank you for this detailed explanation! This completely cleared my confusion. Sai (and we) need Virat to be consistent now and also call out his family and his ex when they verbally abuse her (and his mother but that’s a different topic), this is a good start. People say in the other 2 original versions, the male character didn’t really give the same leverage to the “ex” as they did here.
