Imlie's Story of life - the one who suffers, continue to suffer

Imlie was not born into happiness but into the life time of struggles and hurdles already destined for her. Though she had to go through all the struggles thrown at her, she faced them with dignity and courage everyday swallowing her tears. She stood as a high wall, gave strength & courage for her mother not losing her chirpiness and positive attitude. Everyday was a challenge for her either home that is bearing all the insults from her grandmother or the name calling from the society. Her only strength or the source of encouragement is her dadda and her faith in god that is her Sita Mayya. She bared all this for 18 years and and all her hardwork reaped a fruit in the form of the scholarship but a guy enters her life and again a new set of struggles. Until now she don't have only father's name but this guy's entry made her to think she is/will be all alone for a life. An 18 year old girl thinking like this - there is nothing tragic more than this.

She had to leave all her dreams about her career and live as a maid in that guy's house baring all the insults once again as if she is the one who ruined his life. She felt inferior all her life because of her birth, but she continued to believe that even after her marriage. She had to sacrifice her life many times as if her life is nothing for so called city people to prove that she is innocent and she had no intention in interfering in either Adi or Malini's life. A teenager who should have many dreams about her life partner have to give up on a partnership/marriage and watch him get married to his so called love and vow to live as a Meera for that guy/Adi as her faith in Sita Mayya says that one marriage in one life.

After she finally gives up on him and starts concentrating on her life, that guy suddenly realizes her importance(may be there is no one to entertain him or no one to save his life risking her life every time) and have to drag her back into the house to again to bear all the insults.

Inspite of all these insults, our girl achieves a fruit of her hardwork, - an award to commemorate his hardships, but she cannot live that happiness for atleast a day. Everyone one want a piece of her happiness, her so called dad, husband and family but no one to support her insecurities.

Her Dad -I don't understand her so called dad, what is stopping him to reveal the truth? he lived his life in glory as a renowned painter, a complete life with a wife and a child. Is he scared of loosing his fame? He can at least support her openly instead of all the false support and pretense love as if a big hearted guy pitying a maid. Why all those false cries and needing sympathy from his mom. A teenager is struggling with all her might but he needs sympathy from his mom - what an irony...I wish SK broke his leg or two in PD track.

Here comes The T Family - They all need Imlie for their entertainment or whenever she goes out of the way for the family, but when a slight discrepancy happens Imlie becomes an outsider and she becomes the scapegoat for all their shortcomings. One thing I do not understand with this family is - Is Malini a trophy? why do they want her to live with them so badly instead of advising to the couple to resolve their differences? Is it a status symbol?

Adi - Now comes the so called idol of the truth. Initially he made her life hell for marrying him inorder to save his life, then suddenly one day he realizes her importance and wants her back in the life. But he doesn't care about her self-respect. I got so irritated by him after that holi track. At any point of the time the only thing that matters for him is his comfort. Now that he started loving her, she must stay with him no matter how many insults she had to suffer. His so called saath - why is it only limited when no one is around and why does he need Imlie's approval to say the truth? Atleast now let her live in a hostel away from this mad house with self-respect and dignity.

Imlie have to get out of this messy family and start living her own life. she is taking more that she can bare- there is not one real support in her life. None of them deserve her (except Badke Kaka and Rupi didi). The worst of all is even after sacrificing her marriage, her dignity, her happiness, her achievements and her self-respect she still blames herself for Malini's suicide. A teenager with nothing but god's faith living in such self pity and remorse for the suicide of a person - who is well protected and loved by both the parents and idolized by husband's family(a perfect life).
