If I would have watched it without reading the review, I would have had the same reaction and been so mad with “ best friend” and “tears” and himmat etc which still pricked me... so I just kept my brains aside, totally forgot about Aditya from the past.and watched it .. I think the biggest problem of this scene was how easily he believed her which is so impossible especially after that phone call before the suicide.... This is the same Aditya who saw through her to see that she has class issue but this Aditya could not see that Malini was lying through her teeth. just yesterday he could see that she was doing “ dikhawa” of being all ok to hear the truth but today he could not find anything wrong in the story.... she is the same Malini who consul not keep the simple receipt thing from him and he believed that she could hide such a a big thing from him ..... that’s a freaking disconnect there.... anyways hence I feel the only purpose of this scene was to show Malini that he does not care anymore and Aditya to get more confidence that Malini will understand as they are both sailing in the same boat.. that going be his new slogan for truth naara “ malini will understand”😆🤣
Edited:: the thing that is more irritating about this whole friend thing is that friends have understanding between them and they know each other so well, that is why they are friends or best friends but inme to door door tak understanding ka koi namo Nishaan nahi hain 😆 and how much they know each other really needs no explanation.🤣
@bold: Agree on both points vis a vis what the purpose of the scene was and why it still didn't land quite right cuz of the level of gullibility they showed in Adi believing such an obviously poorly put together lie given the way Malini was acting all despo towards him in the build up to her suicide attempt.
Ok chalo maan liya they wanted to show Adi get more confidence that Malini will understand and she's in the same boat as him.....but what after that? Is sab mein Imlie kahaan hai bhai? Adi apna confidence and apni "best friend" ke saath parallels manage karne mein busy hai, usko sympathy dene mein busy hai ki tum bhi mere jaisi ho😕😆......but where does that leave Adi-Imlie? Where is there room for them in any of all this? That was part of what grated on me.....
And it's so ironic cuz I'd have quite liked it if the story had the guts to maturely give closure to a 7 year relationship jismein chaahe delusion mein hi sahi, they spent 7 years together toh you give that some regard as you talk things through......but they themselves have shown this relationship in such a horrific and toxic way since many episodes now ki ab toh in dono ki shaklein saath mein dekhna bhi repulsive ho gaya hai......but they still expect us to swallow their so called "best friend-giri" on face value as if it's just two best friends talking "maturely" about how they weren't mean to be?😕😆......if that's what they were going for, it deffo didn't come through well.
They may have been better served by not forcing the "best friend" label onto in dono ka relationship and waise hi regard dikha dete of two people who spent 7 years together......it just renders them very artificial when they keep claiming best friendship when the story has never provided any supporting evidence for that claim.....that is why I was too busy rolling my eyes for a major chunk of this scene rather than being able to laugh over Malini's lie only giving her the result of kindness and admiration from Adi for her supposed "dusra pyar".....lol....it could have been a pretty good scene....but they messed it up with the forced best friend and understanding claims even after plenty of evidence to the contrary.
I guess overall that disappointment just settled in that they will never really acknowledge the flaws in the Adi-Malini relationship and even as it ends in divorce, they will keep making these claims of "best friends" and "understanding" between them. Also the fact that letting Malini spin it like this did end up giving credence to the claim of how Adi supposedly suddenly fell in love with someone else after marriage and couldn't fight some "overpowering attraction"....that is how she described it yesterday and there was no push back.
If they let Adi-Imlie be described in these terms, it will taint the overall relationship that has been painstakingly built through nuances in all this time. Adi as usual hasn't been shown talking about his relationship with Imlie or his feelings for her dhang se in a long time now since coming back from PD.....bas sach ki naarebaazi hai ya Malini bhakti hai......I repeat, where are his feelings for Imlie in all this? Bas saath ka vaada dekar sab wrap up ho gaya kya? Is it only now going to be about how much he feels gratified that Malini also loves someone else? It's not the exact same situation, man.
