The spirit in any sport is trying to win with good manner! 😃
The Indian Premier League (IPL) has acted as a source of joy and excitement for its fans over the years. This excitement reaches the next level when the match goes to the last ball. The fans have most enjoyed those matches when both teams end up with the same total and the result is decided with a Super Over. This is the reason why neutral fans hope for a tie in the final over in case of close matches.
To define the spirit of cricket, to determine the merit and talent of players, this super over was introduced!
A Super Over was introduced in the Indian Premier League from the inaugural edition in 2008.
What is a Super Over?
A Super Over is played to obtain a result in case a limited-overs match ends in a tie. Both teams involved play an over each. The team that batted second in the match bats first in the Super Over and vice-versa. The team that scores more runs at the end of their Super Over wins the match.
