I think the shouldn't have made Bucky look surprised. They should have made it look like Bucky himself insisted on a mechanism that only the Dora knew to extract it, because he was that scared of a relapse or something.
Because this make Dora and Shuri (more importantly) cruel or atleast sorta control freak for no reason.
What do you think.
By the way, seb's surprised look was so sad🥺 "Looking strong John!"🤣

I think that wouldn't have made any sense. If u remember the scenes of Bucky in Wakanda, he chose to go thru cryogenic statis because he saw how much the trigger words affected him. He knew the destruction he could cause and how vulnerable he still was. So he accepted the help given by T'Challa and gave up the arm until he got better. Because he wanted to be a man fully in control of his mind and body. This shows he also knew that with the arm, he would be unstoppable so he was giving himself a weakness on purpose.
What really hurt me was when Ayo said "your free" but he never was in the true sense. Sure he was free from the brainwashing, he was no longer the Winter Soldier. But the man was literally weaponised and used as an asset and machinery. He had no control over his mind, actions and body. He still self doubts and doesn't consider himself worthy. So imagine the pain he went through when he realised he still wasn't in control of his entire self. He was still dependent on others and he does not have the power a normal person would have on their own body.
That just makes me feel Bucky will be 'saved' someday soon, maybe a permanent arm or something. Maybe Rocket Raccoon and Peter Parker might work on some new tech together with a metal from some part of the galaxy, so Bucky does not have to remain liable to the Wakandans anymore.
The Dora rubbed me off wrongly in that entire episode. Bucky had just busted out the man who killed their king. But they had been with him for years, specially Ayo. She would've known him much better. She gave him 8 hours, fine. Let them sort out their agenda, because busting Zemo out was for the greater good. Stop going and attacking everyone then. He never went to meet Zemo for what, 6-7 years? Obviously if he's done it now he had an agenda.
Mainly why this pissed me off is that they legit declared war on their allies...where was this sense of morality all those years when Wakanda was in the shadows and let millions fight wars, starve and die?
And jurisdiction? You know they would be jailed because they had no jurisdiction in America or Europe. That was downright bullying. John was basically on their side, he did not want Zemo out of the prison either. Yet they attacked him because he had an informal way of talking and tried to handle things by touching them.
@bold: made me cry man.
But imo the best part of the show is the makers aren't afraid to show the good people in the bad light and the bad people in the good light, irrespective of their race (which has become a major woke agenda recently...apparently u are racist if you don't ship Bucky and Sarah like wtf 🤓).
So the Dora were wrong in attacking and doing that to Bucky, John Walker was trying to do the best he could as he was given a position of high regard and expectations but he was mentally unstable, Sam was wrong in giving up the shield but him being worried about a Black Cap America made sense too, Zemo and Karli truly felt they was doing the right thing (somewhere they weren't wrong) but their method was wrong.
This show is basically showing us how a minor change in our thoughts and actions can cause negative disruptions.

@bold, THIS!
But I still don't like it that Bucky wasn't unaware that his arm is detachable. He should have known. He had the right to know. Because if not anything, like Zemo, had anyone else learnt that maneuvering of the arm before he came to know that his arm can be detached, Bucky would have been at a huge risk in a fight.
@red, this bit makes me so sad, and when John called him an asset, I wanted to kill him. Bucky already has a hard time as it is, and dude's going on reminiding him on his past for no reason.
do you also feel the story sometimes feel incomplete. Like why was Karli pretending to be a hostage?

@bold: In all honesty he did. But from Wakanda's viewpoint, they were holding back on all information so that he would still be controllable if he went rogue. It was fine in the beginning, but to not tell him that after he had redeemed himself and began working as an agent was downright wrong.
@red: Thats why I get a feeling they will get Rocket and Peter to build a new arm. Wakandans, though good, cannot be fully trusted completely, simply because they don't trust the world completely. All the movies/show featuring the country prove this.
Rocket is definitely great with gadgets and machinery while Peter has got Stark tech, that would also be a cool way to fully instate Bucky as an Avenger, giving him a permanent piece with no strings attached created using technology of the man who was not only the founding avenger (as much as you'd think its captain, Fury took up the Avengers initiative after Tony became Iron Man) but it would give Bucky a sense of closure since he has had unpleasant history with the Starks.
Bucky had even gone down on his knees in the deleted extended scene after Tony's death. He was present at the funeral too, and given the fact that Pepper must've known what Bucky did and still let him on the property shows Tony had forgiven him.
@blue: Its these little things that show why John, although top of his class and had a lot of pressure to carry forward the mantle of Captain America, was never suited for the role. Recall the scene from the first Avengers film where Steve meets Bruce. Steve says word is you can find the cube. Bruce asks him is that the only word on him to which Steve says its the only word he cares about. That one scene shows why Steve deserved and earned the role of Captain America.
Even when he worked with Natasha in CATWS, he did grow to trust her after she saved him from Bucky on the highway. Natasha, having been a spy and a shady past, was trusted for the first time by someone, even though she had "betrayed" him once earlier in the movie (Fury had given her a hidden task on the ship scene remember, the scene from ur siggy).
Steve always looked at the good side, making him the apt team leader. No wonder everyone looked upto him and loved him. John was just giving us reasons why he was wrong for the post.
@green: either its something we missed or it could be covered in episode 6 or they are probably renewing the show for season 2...the loopholes keep the audience hooked.
My only complaint with the show is the writing, its highly inconsistent and seems lazy at times. WandaVision was extremely well written and looks like Loki is too.
Marvel just decided that Sebastian Stan would cover up the laziness of the writers...I must say it worked, I was so lost in his eyes and face that its taken me three days to realise there are loopholes 🤣

"You can play Bucky"
"Who the hell is Bucky?"
"You are hired!"
Sometimes I feel had it not been Seb, the character would never come across this vulnerable, this beautiful. I mean, not that I am saying taht other actors are bad, but it just looks like Seb cares more about Buck then any of the writers (not TFATWS, they did write him brilliantly) Seb celebrated Buck's birthday, I mena, how cute is that!
Same with Loki.
I just hope Buck is invited for Falcon's birthday
