This is the continuation of "You've Come Down With Love [RaghVi OS] ft. Keerti"- by nautankitadka. Just read it..and this is my first time, so do forgive all the mistakes. Here you go:đ
âAnna, Anna!!â Kirti said, snapping her fingers in front of Raghavâs face, breaking him from another one of his trances for the day.
âNow, what thoughts are you lost in??â Kirti asked, pursuing her lips and trying to get an answer out of him.
Raghav remained silent and started roaming his eyes around the cafeteria again. Seeing his brother this reluctant, she again said âWhat if Pallavi likes you too Anna?â
Raghav smiled at her sisterâs reply and said âIt is sometimes better to live your unexpected love than to chase it. Maybe this is not meant to be.â
Just as Kirti was about to retort an answer, her phone started ringing.
There is an aura around him which oozes confidence and power and attracts everyoneâs attention whenever he enters a room. As weird as it may sound, she can feel his mere presence, his actions...and the way he was continuously looking at her ever since he entered the cafe gathering the attention of all the female population.
She often had heard âWhat and if are two words as non-threatening as words can be. But, put them together side-by-side, they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your lifeâ and she believed it to be true...but she was never brave enough to take the risk and cross the what-if line.
As the days passed, it was getting more difficult for her to hide her growing unrequited feeling for Raghav. She was more scared for the fact how Raghav reads her better than she herself and would know what she feels for him.
.
âPallu!!â Mansi said, pulling Pallavi out of her thoughts. Pallavi looked at Mansi questioningly.
âPallu, dekh, Kirti and her brother are here too. Letâs invite them over to our table.Pleaseâ Mansi pouted.
âYeah di, the more the merrierâ Nikhil said excitedly. Pallavi could never deny her siblings anything and nodded her head. Mansi pulled out her phone and called Kirti and kept the phone on speaker.
âHello Mansi!â Kirti said and Mansi waved to her across the table.
âPut the phone on speakerâ Mansi said as she was waving. Once the phone was kept on speaker, Mansi asked âWhy donât you and your brother join us over here at our table. Afterall, more the merrierâ.
Raghav said âIâll stay here. Kirti---â his sentence was interrupted by Mansi âYou are invited too Raghavâ
Raghav said âI canât come. Mereko ek jaruri kaam haiâ. As Mansi was trying to convince him. âRehne de Mansi...Ghamandi Rao hai yeh. Uske aane se mohal aur kharab ho jayega..aur woh kisi ki bhi baat nahi suntaâ Pallavi interrupted looking across the table to see Raghavâs expression..
Raghav retorted looking back at her into her eyes âMere aane se logon ko khushi milti hai. Mera presence hi logon ke liye ek honor hota hai Saree ka dukaanâ
âGhamandi Ra--â her sentence was stopped by the laughter of their siblings. Nikhil commented âLook they started their bickering here on phone tooâ This led to another round of laughter in two tables.
Raghav said âKirti you go and enjoy with your friends. Iâll stay hereâ
Kirti stood up and settled at Pallaviâs table. Raghav ordered another plate of medu vadas for himself and started scrolling through this phone. A round of laughter disturbed the buzzing atmosphere of the cafe and Raghav looked up to see it coming from the table of four where his sister is sitting. Seeing the joyous expression on Kirtiâs and Pallaviâs face brought a smile to his face. Suddenly Kirti winked at him across the table. Raghav shakes his head at her childishness.
Seeing them all happy, he thought it has been 6 months since his Amma and Kirti are living with him in the Rao Mansion. For the last few years, he has been trying to bring them to his home, and he has finally succeeded. Although Amma has not completely forgiven him, but they are closer to each other now and are on the way to restoring their relationship.
The past still scars their family, but somehow together they have been finally able to cope up with the death of his father, Ajith Rao and his little brother, Arjun Rao. He still shudders thinking about the day of their death, how all the people marched into their family home and killed his baba and Arjun all in the name of righteous deeds. Tears crinkled at the corner of his eyes thinking what a happy family they had been, the family of five, loved and respected by all. His amma, Jaya Rao, had been a keen enthusiast of classical dance, especially Bharatnatyam. He remembered how she used to teach them Bharatnatyam in the houseâs courtyard. âAhh..the courtyardâ he reminisced, all the mischief the siblings had done there. How Arjun used to make Amma run after him to make him eat food. He remembered eating Amma's handmade phirni by Ammaâs hand, how his mother made him sleep on her lap on the hot summer nights in the courtyard. He smiled sadly thinking how the trio used to play hide and seek in the courtyard and the way Kirti used to escape from them by holding onto Ammaâs pallu. He had always been his motherâs favourite out of the trio. He couldnât help but recall those special nights, where the whole family used to sit together, his and Kirtiâs head on Ammaâs shoulder and Arjun sitting on her lap. Those nights their father used to play nadaswaram, and he recollected what his father said âSon, I will teach you how to play this the day I find you worthy enough to hold itâ but the day sadly never came. They had been this happy family, with him being the eldest, Kirti being the middle one and Arjun being the smallest. Kirti always had been the mischievous one, playing pranks on everyone. She used to hide his books and stationary, Ammaâs ghungroo and Arjunâs toys. Until that one fateful day, all the happiness of Rao family was kept at stake and destroyed. A smirk formed on his face thinking about how his Amma and Kirti returned to Rao mansion.
It has been one hell of a year, and he couldnât help but chuckle, it all started with the entry of his saree ka dukaan. His life has never been the same since he met her. She was a rainstorm, who created chaos and brought coolness in his life. He couldnât be more thankful to her for indirectly helping him bring Amma and Kirti back in his life. He would have said thank you to her but that would have boosted Pallaviâs ego and would not have satisfied his own. His lecture ka dukaanâs lecture, he smiled, whose lectures he used to get bored of, had actually helped him in an unthinkable day. He thought about the day before Amma moved into his house, he stood in awe in the living room of his Ammaâs house along with Farhad and Harish as his lecture ka dukaan gave his Amma a lecture on forgiveness and moving on and defended him on being a changed man.He couldnât believe that she was the same saree ka dukan who hurled abuses at him once. With a little convincing from Farhad and Harishâs side and a lot of requests from him, Amma and Kirti finally agree to comer to his house making it a home.
Pallavi, the water to his burning fire, the one who balances completely with him,had impacted him so adversely, that he couldnât bear the thought of a life without her. His mind went back to the day when she stepped into the RR Mansion for the first time, the day she for the first time fell into his arms, was the day the heart in his heartless body started to beat along with hers. The moment he saw her innocent and wide eyes was the day he started to feel something for her no matter how long he kept denying himself. He let out a small laugh thinking of his first entry into Desmukh house and how he fell on her with a flower shower. Their long eyelocks, and her helping him and their proximity created havoc inside him.
There was no hate between them, there was only one thing brewing and that is called love, pure love.
Across the table, Pallavi noticed the myriad of expressions on Raghavâs face and couldnât help but worry about him. She excused herself from the table to go to the washroom. Raghav pushed his face upwards seeing a shadow hovering over him and there he saw his desire which cannot come true no matter how much he wants it to come true. He wants to make her his, but that will remain a dream unfulfilled.
âRaghavâ âPallaviâ both said simultaneously and Pallavi took a seat in front of him. This was the first time they took each other's real name civilly. They looked into each otherâs eyes, various emotions, feelings and words swimming in it. Raghav couldnât help but believe what he was seeing in her eyes...those raw emotions and its meaning clearly aware to him.
âYou look beautiful!â Raghav said, breaking the awkwardness between them.
There on the other table Kirti smiled seeing Pallavi seated with Raghav.
Pallavi shyly tucked her hair behind her ear and said thank you. There was a moment of silence between them...which was surprising because when they were together, the situation was always the opposite of silence. Raghavâs phone pinged, breaking the second wave of silence.
He got up from his seat, and walked and bent towards Pallavi and kissed her cheek. âSee you tomorrow at saree shop, saree ka dukaanâ he said and straightened himself up and walked away with a huge grin on his face while Pallavi sat there flustered, with wide eyes and hands on cheek where it was just kissed.
