why is there always a dadi?

guys me and bro were discussing why there always have to be a dadi or some "buzurg" in serial's.. but we didn't really agree with each others reason.. so i toguht of posting this question here! why is there always dadi in most of the seria'ls..

maybe cox they r d most experienced ones....paithees saal ka experience hai unko. 😆

coz they r the ones who usually solve the problems eg, nani n shehenaz bi or create them eg shashank.

bcz oderwise it wud bcum like d movie salaam namste...n it wud ba bt lodern relationships nliving ins n stuff...d elders make u follow traditions n dats debst things abt indians...we r diffenrt bcz of our trasitions wich we get frm our elders kyunki unheinh har cheez ka andaza hota hai...n especially dadis nanis,dads n stuff...bcz dey r realy friendly evn more dan ur parents!!!...n u can easily tell dem abt stuff...

It's as though having a Dadi/Nani is a necessity.

You know what I find funny? This is a huge blooper. They CREATED Anjali & Riddhima's Nani, it seems. Because on Sanjeevani, Shashank and Smriti got together, got married, raised Anjali,etc.....and there was never ANY mention of Smriti's mother being alive. And she definitely did not live with them. Haha.

i think because they r the most experience one and they knows the reality of this world
