Episode 10, I did not feel like writing a review because the episode had me emotional, then I told myself that this is probably the least emotional one we will have because in future it will be a galore of tears and some more tears and then some more tears. So yeah..
I will start with Mahi because she had few scenes tonight, so it was not much about her anyway. However, even in her few scenes Mahi confuses me. Now, I do not know whether this was a deliberate attempt from the writer to keep the female lead confused or is it just the direction where he does not know that how to express Mahi's turmoil onscreen? Firstly, at one moment she is blushing for Taimoor, but she does not think about him at all? I repeat, not at all, not even when Feedi was not in her vicinity. If i consider the fact that she suddenly ended up seeing Feedi from the terrace and that annoyed her, but shouldn't that annoyance be there temporary? She discussed with Sahiba, Sahiba consoled her and it should have gone, because Mahi knows that Feedi wasn't going to either meet her or do anything else now, so why bothered about his condition? Mahi clearly does NOT know where she stands, the moment she saw Feedi, her first reaction was 'What did he do to himself, where is the Farhad I knew back in Lahore?. So, how does it matter now, you just rejected him yesterday, so obviously he would not be in a happy state right? Now for someone, who recently called him out about his stupidity, she should be the last one to even feel bad leave alone see through his devastated state? When Sahiba asked her, her counter was that he appeared in front of me, so how is it my fault? Well, then how about thinking about his confession post that scenario? Feedi's words, his condition, everything is bugging her to a point that she could not express any happiness when her mother informed about the ruksaati date, and in Feedi's defense, he did not even try or claim to meet her before any of this scenario. So Mahi is a puzzle now, either her ego cannot just accept the fact that she has weakness towards Farhad, or it is just her fear that he is losing himself for an unattainable cause, but in both the cases she is not complaining that he loves her, heck she does not even complain about the magnitude of his love. In her defense, she just did another sort of blunder or just put an axe in the foot thing by sending Fakeera, this was her only way to learn about his condition, was she restless that he was suffering? Was she bothered that he was unstable and she wanted Fakeera to go and massage his thoughts?. So, my question was why does Feedi need a special 'pegam' about her wedding? In the last episode itself Fakeera fed him laddoo and informed him right? So, Mahi darling, what was the point of doing it again?🤪 I mean it is like repeatedly rubbing a raw wound unless that infects the adjacent tissues, it was a bad idea TBH, Feedi already knew that her wedding was fixed, sending another forced pegam was just wasted effort, and the aftermath turned out to be messy again, instead of being convinced he became more adamant that why cannot Mahi herself come and give her pegam herself instead of sending laddoos and other sweets repeatedly?😆 I understand Mahi was worried about his health, but dude I will never be worried about my driver's health when I am getting married after 3 weeks.🤔
Coming back to Feedi, before I say anything, applause for Mr. Khan, outstanding is a very simple adjective for the performance tonight, there was a point where I felt like Feedi struggled to breathe while tears flew from his eyes, it looked more like an elaboration of a physical pain, what a brilliant and subtle portrayal of the character's state. Not to forget, this was Feedi's first ranting/venting after that rejection from Mahi, it was needed, I have told it earlier too, for someone like Feedi who wore his heart on his sleeve, it was necessary that he vents his heart out in front of someone, and finally Fakeera amma was the spectator (thanks to Mahi here...LOL).
I loved the whole conversation, a pure display of how two people who genuinely confide in each other would talk, starting with taunting each other, it broke down into calling each other mom-son. Fakeera, was mourning his condition, she lost her son, Feedi reminded her of him, she wanted to see him safe, she also knows that Feedi's suffering was not temporary, she could see that he struggled to talk, he struggled to keep his calm, he still pleaded her to face Mahi for the last time and then he will leave. Now here comes the controversial question that will he guilt trip Mahi after meeting her again? Well, do not you think that Mahi is already guilty even without any involvement from Feedi? Her recurring guilt send Fakeera to Feedi, and wow the lines from Fakeera that 'Mahi bibi said your love won and she accepts your mohabbat', this entire line messed up Feedi more and now he wants to hear this from Mahi herself.🤪Honestly, I would be very very pissed off if someone after rejecting me sended a consolation message of 'I accept your love, you are a winner, wow' 🤣 And, the plea to meet her was only an aftermath of Fakeera's insistence that 'Mahi has send me to force you to forget her and leave', It was Mahi's order for Feedi, in Feedi's head he is probably thinking that in order to shove down the truth in his throat, Mahi was approaching such ways, so why does not she have the courage to break it to him by looking at his eyes? Well, not that I would mind, but I think Feedi is clearly not understanding that the rebel Mahi whom he saw in Lahore is not the same, I feel like in his head he pictures the Lahore's Mahi in every situation, he cannot differentiate that Mahi is caged here and she cannot just do whatever she wants. Maybe that is why he also believed that the idea of agreeing for the wedding was also a forced one from her family. Now it is clear why Feedi considered leaving everything behind, he lived in a fairy tale where ameer-garib never mattered, today it does and here the writer clearly points out the class difference and also emphasizes the fact that Taimoor could only win Mahi on the basis of his royalty and had Feedi belonged to that class, he would also be a perfect match for Mahi. I still stand by my stance that Feedi should leave but well looking at the intensity right now, I feel like these two indeed should just have a final meeting (which I believe will still not happen), and no I do not mean that Mahi should be guilty or just fall for him, but it is obvious that he makes a difference to Mahi, and not because he loves her but he is the first man to rebel for her, no matter what, Mahi knows and can feel that his feelings are genuine and not harmful, had Mahi been uncomfortable or scared, she could have buried him dead in that palace itself, and she could have blamed him and her family wouldn't point a finger, but she chose to let him go, because she has enough trust on him, and today's episode just reflected that.
I cannot wait for the next episode, it was a shocker to see Sajal being that bold😲, and making advances to Feedi in his bedroom😎, WOW, you go girl, that is what happens na, when you are in love you just cannot differentiate between right vs wrong. I wonder was she making physical advances to Feedi, because from what I saw from the teaser, their scene had the undertones of Sajal making physical advances, but I do not mind, she deserved to do that, she does fantasize and most probably love him now. I will wait for the scene to play out and then make comments.
Last but not the least, after 10 episodes, I feel like praising Hashim Nadim for the dialogues and the depth of each character, Feedi is a very very flawed character, and even his decisions are not favorable, there is still something that the writer has given him which will make him a hero, same goes for Mahi, she is a rebel, and I can see it that when she will love Feedi, the magnitude will be 10 folds higher than his love, everything comes down to the director now.
