The Loneliest Moment In Someone’s Life

Is When They Are Watching Their Whole World Fall Apart

And All They Can Do Is Stare Blankly!!

The cold water splashed on his face calming his stressed being… but the very next moment recent events flashed in front of his closed eyes…. Maan shuddered as the fear and feeling he lived in past few hours came back haunting him!!

The visuals of lifeless Geet in his arms…her taken inside the OT … and then Drs nearly giving up hope on her and their baby surviving.

It was all a terrible nightmare … thankfully it ended!!

He headed straight to the prayer room and pay his gratitude to the Almighty!!

Who had blessed his sinful being by gifting him an Angel … whom he had nearly destroyed in his anger and hatred …. but her pure love and their mercy on him didn’t let his life and world fall apart!!

Maan didn’t have any words all he could utter was two words with utmost sincerity and gratitude

It had been a couple of days since Geet was back home … she was instructed for complete bed rest as she was very weak and with so much blood loss still chances of miscarriage were very high.

Rano and Rashmi was all the time with her taking care of her.

Rano was staying over at Khurana’s since Geet’s discharge. She had wanted to take Geet to Handa home but Khurana’s didn’t agree …. as Maan had already arranged for all the required facilities in the mansion.

Maan was nowhere to be seen all these days … he would just pay brief visit greet her and inquire about her health …. Most of the times he would just speak top Rano and not directly to Geet.

Conflict Grows Out Of Ignorance And Suspicion!!

Geet wasn’t liking the distance that was being created between them.

Since her waking up in the hospital and his love confession they haven’t spent much time together.

In the hospital also either Rano or Maan’s Mom would be with her and Maan avoided to be around her most of the times.

There was an accident at one of Khurana Constructions site and Maan had to leave urgently. The accident had occurred late in the night … so Maan couldn’t meet Geet as she was fast asleep due to her medications.

Geet was drowned in her own misery!! … To the world she seemed fine but her insecurities had returned … Maan’s absence was hurting her within … feeling of being unwanted was back!!

Him leaving her …uninformed …. acted like a last blow … further aggravating her inner fears!!

All this emotional turmoil took a toll on her …. her blood pressure shot up and her condition worsened!!

There was a panic in the families and Maan’s absence adding on to it!!

Maan had to rush back to Delhi and …. by that time the Dr somehow managed to get her BP in control and Geet was stable now!

The Dr warned Maan and the family of dire consequences if this emotional stress continues. She told Maan …its very important for Geet to be happy, healthy and stress free!!

He couldn’t control himself and for few moments he let his guard down sat beside her caressing her head lovingly! He placed his other hand on her stomach like trying to feel their Baby within!!

He wanted to drink in this image and feel her so close to him … live these moments!!

But Maan failed to realize this was his Geet she could sense him anywhere even in her deepest sleep!!

Maan was about to get up and walk away when she held his hand and called out to him.

Gaining some composure without turning her way he spoke.

He tried to free his hand from her grasp to walk away from her.

But her next set of words ripped his heart apart.

“Kyun door jaa rahe ho mujhse … kya aap humse pyaar nahi karte?..."

“Shayad ab aap mera chehra bhi nahi dekhna chahte …. Bojh ban gaye hain hum dono aap pe! ”

Geet couldn’t bear his indifference and him constantly avoiding her. Gathering all her courage she confronted him.

Maan hadn’t seen this coming his way … he was totally caught off guard!!

“Geet …. Tum aisa soch bhi kaise sakti ho?”

Maan asked appalled.

“Main toh soch rahi hoon …aap toh aisa kar rahe hain … mere saath!”

“Itne din se ek baar bhi mujhe theek se nahi mile … jaan ne ki koshish bhi nahi ki ke hum zinda hain bhi ke nahi!”

“GEET …. ”

Maan shouted bewildered turning around and at once putting his hand on her mouth in a bid to stop her from uttering anything bad!

The very thought of them being in danger again scared the wits off him!!

He knelt down defeated and burying his head in her stomach he cried his heart out!!

Geet knew he was broken!! …..Somewhere her mind was playing games with her …. But her heart knew Her Maan …It could sense his pain!!

There was only one way she could have known what was worrying him… to confront him!!

Gathering all her courage she took a chance and finally he vented out his pain!!

After The Darkest Storm!!

[KHURANA MANSION]

It was a bustling day in Khurana household … actually everyday it would be the same story as Baby Khurana’s always ensured to keep each and every inhabitant of the house on their toes!!

But today hustling bustling had a different tale to tell!!

It was MAANEET ‘S 2nd ANNIVERSARY!!

The entire clan was here preparing for a grand party as their wedding was a very private affair and last year they couldn’t celebrate their 1st Anniversary in a grand way due to Geet’s delivery. So this year they all had planned a big event for the couple!!

Everyone was at ease as the situation was under control …. They could freely concentrate on the duties assigned to them as the main and most important duty was being fulfilled by the expert himself!!

Yes … a terror to the outside world … the shark in the business world … Mr Maan Singh Khuraana was currently in the kitchen attending to his priced possessions!!

Yes Maan had prepared his special and healthy porridge for his cute little munchkins … yes munchkins …not munchkin …. Geet had delivered Twin boys!!

How nicely they sat in their twin stroller pram and very obediently eating their meal.

Had it been someone else in place of Maan or Geet they would have created a riot in the house!

At times they would even drive Geet mad but with their Daddy dearest they were always at the best of their behaviour!!

After all they were Khurana Heirs!! … And Maan’s sons … absolutely holding true to their Father’s name and traits …. They already had their little world … Oops! Family bowing down to them!!

But they were a complete blend of Maan n Geet!!

They had their little ways to irk the family with their pranks and trouble them …but just like Geet they were emotional …very attached to everyone!!

They were adored by everyone … even the staff of the house!!

Very rarely would they visit Khurana Constructions as Maan didn’t like it …firstly because the entire staff would stop working and be interested in spending time with the kiddos and Geet being Geet would let them play with the kids.

Secondly the possessive Daddy hated to allow his kids go away from him even for sometime but couldn't say much as one look of Geet and .....

Now the times have changed!!

Gone was the time when Geet was petrified of Maan … she was yet the simple… meek …innocent Geet but there were times when she was firm and had her way …. Even Maan couldn’t argue or change her stand!!

It was Geet’s final exam today …she had gone to her college and from their Annie and Pari were supposed to take her to the parlour.

She looked at the beaming faces enjoying the party standing at the kitchen door. It was late the guests had already left it was only their family and friends. The slow music played and couples were dancing. Dadima and Beeji smiled sitting on the high backed chairs watching her clan’s happiness.

Papa and Mumma were dancing along with the other couples Kapoor Uncle and Aunty ; Jay-Shasha ; Adi-Pinky ; Vicky and Pari and Maa- Papaji.

Yes Papaji could walk just needed support of walking stick … maybe after a couple of months he wouldn’t need that too. Papaji’s willpower and Raj Papa and Maan’s efforts to ensure he gets the best treatment had made this possible.

I smiled as I saw Papaji just stood taking support of the wall but guided Maa with simple hand movements. Maa was so conscious but finally their relations had slowly crossed troubled waters and finally My Maa was happy!!

Maan had played a big role in bridging the distance between my Parents and ensure that My Maa gets the love and respect that she truly deserved always!!

I couldn’t fulfill this responsibility as a daughter but Maan as a son had done it!!

Yes he wasn’t the son-in- law but for Beeji … Papaji ..Maa he was their eldest son and even Kapoor Uncle and Aunty thought the same.

I was so proud of MY MAAN!!

Aunty and Vicky were back to their house… their family was complete!!

Kapoor Uncle too had recovered completely …as they say na … Family and loved ones are your strength and they help you to overcome the biggest battles and troubles of your life!!

Maan and Adi Sir were teaching and guiding Vicky about the working and operating aspects of Kapoor group of Companies. Kapoor Uncle would come to office for sometime but he wanted Maan to mentor Vicky as no one better than Maan knew the rules of business.

Pari and Vicky recently got engaged and very soon they are planning to get married.

Jay and Shasha just got married last year but still are enjoying their honeymoon phase.

Adi-Pinky were expecting their baby in couple of months.

Rajji and Titu couldn’t join us as they have their final exams going on but Maan had promised once they are back her for their vacations he will make it very special for them!!

Filling both the bottles with milk … Geet hurried up to their room before her babies plan to give her a reminder call!!

Maan hates it when they cry and when Daddy and babies are angry with her means its double trouble!!

Maan had brought babies out of the washroom after giving them a nice warm bath.

The kids were not allowing him to dress them up. Today has been an eventful day for them … being centre of attraction at the party.

They enjoyed the party and weren’t cranky but wouldn’t let any stranger come closer or touch them!!.... While Maan was scowling all the time not at all liking all the guests crowding around his babies!

Geet couldn’t help but smile thinking … Like Father …like Sons!!

Seeking the first possible opportunity Maan escaped from the party citing an excuse that babies were sleepy …. While for the first time both were up so late and yet in a playful mood … not at all interested in sleeping.

Geet walked in putting up a serious expression keeping the bottles on the side table she picked up younger baby and dressed him up … followed by the calm elder one!!

There were times when the babies did abide to Geet’s wishes too!!

Geet knew if she too will mellow down the kids won’t sleep and it was really late …though the kids were in a playful mood yet they seemed tired.

Maan helped placing both kids on her lap on each side and then both Geet and Maan held the bottle while the kids calmly drank the milk.

With her free hand Geet lovingly caressed their heads and hummed their favourite lullaby to them.

The warm bath … the warm milk … the warmth of their Mother’s touch and their Father’s presence … soothing feel of sweet nothings and melodious song sung by their Mommy …finally help them to drift in a peaceful sleep!!

Lovingly tucking them in their favourite blanket both brothers held each others hand as they slept in their crib.

Both Maan and Geet looked at their priceless possessions … a calm settled in their heart!!

They were a token of their Love … their Pride … their Valour … their Future!!

Geet was about to head to the washroom for a quick shower but Maan had other plans!!

Pulling her to him with her back plastered to his chest … Geet gasped in surprise!!

She shivered as a cold metal touched skin…. Maan’s moved his hands under her saree his fingers lazily grazing her skin taking its sweet time tantalizing her senses …. Holding her firm in his grip as he slowly hooked the jewellery.

Geet looked down as she saw a dull gold waist chain with small diamonds delicately set in the design and a solitaire dangling right in the middle setting it perfectly on her navel.

Geet shied as she remembered their Shimla trip … His birthday gift to her … waist chains… he loved then on her!!

His words then

“Only I have the right to make you wear them … see them and break them too!!”

And So The Lion Fell In Love With The Lamb!!

Turning her around he pulled her more close to him … putting his finger under her chin lifting her face to make her look at him.

“I LOVE YOU GEET!!”

“I LOVE YOU TOO MAAN!!”

He was about to close the distance between them but stopped midway. Geet looked up at him and saw him smirking.

Geet knew he was definitely up to something but was shocked as she heard his words.

“Tumne mujhe hamaara anniversary gift nahi diya …” He added.

“Haw!! … Mere papers chal rahe the …..toh aap ne hi kahan tha … main baad mein apni man pasand gift le lunga.”

Geet replied shocked at his sudden change of stand.

“Haan toh ab mujhe apni gift chahiye!…Chalo do mujhe meri gift.” He ordered.

“Maan main itni raat ko kahan se gift lau.”

Geet complained clearly losing her patience.

Now going totally off the topic he continued puzzling Geet.

“Geet main soch raha tha ke ab tumharacourse nearly khatam ho gaya hain … Garvaur Shaurya bhi bade ho rahe hain … woh dono bilkul meri tarah hain …. mujh pegaye hain … toh yeh sahi nahi hain!”

“Matlab …”

Geet asked innocently not quite understanding his point.

“Mera matlab hain … mujhpe gaye hain …tumpe nahi gaye hain …toh yeh sahi nahi hain …hain na?”

He continued confusing Geet further.

Maan smirked as he knew he had succeeded one more push and his mission is accomplished!!

Something never change … innocent and naive Geet still couldn’t read his mind at times!!

“Yeh kya baat hui …. mujhe kuch samajhnahi aa raha hain.”

Geet blurted out naively.

“Woh dono boys hain … bilkul meri tarah …replica of The Maan Singh Khurana … lekin Geet kahan hain?”

“Maan yeh kaisa sawaal hain … bête aksar apne Papa ki tarah hote hain … aur betiyaan apni Mummy ki tarah.”

“Wow Geet … Badi jaldi samajh gayi" He taunted in a low tone.

Geet gasped in shock …

He wanted a Baby!!!

So this was his full proof plan …so he didn’t let her go to buy any gift!

“NAHI … Yeh nahi ho sakta …”

She denied firmly.

“Geet please …yeh meri gift ..meri wish hain …mujhe nahi dogi tum.”

He threw his most powerful emotional card now .... knowing Geet will melt seeing puppy dog eyes look.

Sighing Geet reminded him Dr’s words that if the first pregnancy the mother delivers twins there are chances of twins in the second pregnancy too.

But Maan being Maan was not interested he said its just a possibility and even if they have twins again they will proud parents of 4!!

Geet was shocked beyond wits … He was ready to counter all her points ... He was well prepared!

Not having the energy to argue more she tried to escape to the washroom but Maan pulled her to him.

“Maan suno …dekho …”

“Kya dekhu?…”

Maan queried nuzzling his nose on her neck as his hands started working on freeing Geet of her saree.

“Maan … koi guarantee nahi hain nex baby Girl hogi … wapas Boy bhi toh ho sakta hain…”

“Girl bhi toh ho sakti hain …. “

By now her saree was lying in a pool at her feet.

Lifting her up in his arms he headed to their bed.

“Aur boy hua toh …”

Geet tried to reason out again.

“Toh hum phir se try karenge …. Tumne suna hain na … Try and Try till you Succeed!!”

Maan answered calmly like it was the most obvious thing.

Freeing themselves from their clothes leaving no room for escape for her yet a bewildered Geet tried.

But her words were swallowed in the kiss as her Hubby took her in the whole new world of togetherness!!!
