OT : What’s Turning 30 Like ?

For some people age is just a number. For others they wear their age in their faces.

For me it’s certain he behavior. At about a certain time you gotta reign it in. Now matter how boisterous you are you can’t be acting a fool everywhere all the time. So you change your clothes and speaking style. You become more grown up.

This summer I’m gonna turn 30. Friends did a famous episode where we got to see the 30th birthday of all characters. I wonder how Bday goes.

But how will I know if I’m ready to do just grownup things.

Hey, congratulations. It feels very bittersweet- for me, it was recent as well but it's kind of felt like...making peace with all the regrets and things you couldn't do in your 20s and looking forward to the next decade with a helluva lot more wisdom and perspective.

So basically you're old enough not to be naive and idealistic like we were in our 20s but still young enough to be able to put your experience to good use in your 30s. I feel slightly jaded but still hopeful.

Also you definitely have a better grip on your career and finances than in your 20s where you (basically I was) were totally clueless. So that's a massive bonus!

Also all relationship issues, childhood stuff or any dysfunction in the family bothers you less and less and less even though your responsibilities increase. So overall I'll take it!! 😊

They say "your 30s are like 20s but with money, more wisdom and acid reflux ".

This is scary... that's why we should start eating healthy in our 20s only😊

Turning 30 be like you can no longer stay awake till 4 AM playing cards. Go out to Walmart at 3 AM to buy air bed with friends only to find another Desi working in the Walmart laughing his head out at you and your friends antics becoz he can understand Hindi. 😆

You want to sleep at reasonable hour and plan things. No more impulsivity. You have kids and all your activities center around them.

And now when you see 20+ something kids saying they don’t wanna get married and have kids, you laugh at their filmy khayali pulavs. 😆

I miss my metabolism! Health definitely goes south - you start getting deficiencies, and all sort of muscle pain. I wish I worked out more in my late 20s. But I had a lot of FOMO in my 20s, and I'm so much more settled in my 30s. I'm totally ok now not being in a group, but 20s was all about coming to that realization.

You’re asking how you will know if you’re ready to do just grownup things?

But aren’t you a dad?

Anyway 30 will prepare you for 40 and 40 for 50 and they say life begins at 50 :)

I turned 30 a couple of months ago and I've been waiting for my supposed new found maturity and ... well 😂 *insert the 'It was all a lie' gif* I'm still the same old me. I do the same things, I wear the same clothes, I still enjoy kpop, anime, bollywood, doing photo-shoots with my cats etc. Nothing has changed lol. But then again, I really don't have any major life changes happening to me. I'm not married and I don't want kids, so I don't really have much responsibilities tbh. But like didn't you have a whole BABY? I'm sure that has more impact on your level of maturity then the clock striking midnight on your 30th birthday 😂
