Thats why the other day I said buildup to the neighbor scene is important. I dont know about KD, but in Tamil it was very organic, I loved the scenes right from when she returns from wedding till she leaves after drama.

see we might find the neighborhood drama ott but it happens around us all the time. i remember few years back when our maid was getting abused by her husband, she gathered all the neighborhood including my parents. in such cases usually people who care enough try to talk sense into that man. because there is no point talking about divorce to them, even if they separate they don’t resort to legal route. infact she stayed the whole night with her children at our home. the next morning when he came to take her back, my dad actually threatened to lodge a complaint if he repeats it because she did not want to file a complaint. so sai hoping that in case they drag devi back to that hell hole, the neighbours might help in case she calls out to them.

what i mean to say is many of us might not have wanted it and did not want sai to go that way, but it actually happens even today everywhere. we as people value our opinion in our society a lot. many of us might not care about society’s opinion when it is something related to the well being of our family, but there are still people who destroy lives of their children to maintain their false pride. they are usually very high up in the status and have resources to keep themselves out of legal trouble like chavans. but what would happen when the same false pride is destroyed infront of the society? why should a woman who they have no regard for care for their respect in the society when that is the only way she can probably protect the one she loves?
